RIIndia just took a massive step toward the future of transportation.
Elon Musk introduced the idea. But at Indian Institute of Technology Madras, students didn’t wait. They built Asia’s longest Hyperloop test track, a 410-meter vacuum tube designed for ultra-high-speed travel. Backed by Indian Railways, the Avishkar team has already completed initial testing and launched India’s indigenous startup, TuTr Hyperloop.
This is more than a student project. It’s a glimpse into the future of mobility. Hyperloop technology aims to move pods through low-pressure tubes at speeds above 1,000 km/h, potentially making Mumbai to Pune a matter of minutes. While much of the world is still experimenting, Indian engineering talent is building real infrastructure on the ground.
This isn’t India catching up. This is India building what comes next.
