Walked away from the thing I loved most in this world (BMX) to start living my truest expresison of who I am at my core.
Golf has helped fill the void BMX left inside of me - minus the concussions.
It’s also reconnected my dad and I on a level I didn’t know I missed.
People think all the brain tumors is why I left BMX.
No.
I choose to walk away despite the brain tumors I overcame for a decade of my BMX career.
I choose to embrace the resistance I felt as my knowing it was time to start down a new path developed more and more.
A path of service.
Service for others and finally, myself.
BMX was my safe space and I hid there.
I am no longer hiding and it’s my mission to guide and support others in doing the same.
This is what MITO is all about.

MAI dedicated a significant portion of my life in pursuit of finding “my” people, often looking in the wrong places. This journey led to a core wound, a persistent feeling of being left out and not being chosen. In an attempt to fill this void, I started placing a false sense of worth in being chosen by men, prioritizing these connections over friendships that I inadvertently neglected.
The misconception that people should come to me, validating my worth, hindered my understanding of how to nurture relationships. I lacked awareness about the effort required to sustain meaningful connections, not realizing that all relationships thrive on mutual effort, communication, and understanding. Creating and maintaining connections require empathy and a genuine willingness to invest time and energy. Building meaningful connections and fostering deep, lasting relationships involves a multifaceted approach rooted in self-awareness. The journey begins with self-reflection and healing, addressing personal wounds and insecurities to cultivate a secure sense of self. Authenticity and vulnerability play pivotal roles, allowing us to share our true selves and forge connections based on trust. This is the basis for my upcoming group coaching course, “Unearth to Rebirth” (head to the link in my bio to join the Waitlist!)
Over time, I’ve worked on healing these core beliefs and have integrated that knowledge into all aspects of my life. This year, I intentionally chose to focus on connection, understanding that my favorite place is always tied to the people I surround myself with, irrespective of location.
