4. FreeCAD - Great for users who value privacy, ownership, and “old school” software philosophy. No login or subscription required.
3. @adskfusion - Popular among hobbyist and professional engineers alike. Autodesk brings us the gold standard for parametric design software but lacks some modern functionality available in competing programs.
2. @blender.official - So much more than just a modeling software. It’s the only software in this list that is not parametric and uses “mesh modeling”. Steep learning curve but you’ll be a better designer afterwards.
1. @onshapeptc - My personal favorite for its easy to use interface and cloud based platform. This lets me model anything, anywhere, and on any device.

Best 3D modeling software:
Rhinoceros is an excellent tool for parametric design. It has the ability to model almost anything, specially with grasshopper as its integrated plug-in. Yes, Revit is an industry standard, and it is crucial to be familiar with it, but I think it is quite behind in its parametric modelling capabilities.
Best 2D drafting software:
Honestly, nothing beats @autocad. It is THE industry standard for 2D drawing. It is set with all the tools to draw efficiently. I just can’t say enough about it.
Best rendering software:
I have used Vray for almost 2 years before switching to @lumionofficial. Vray is great, HOWEVER, the amount of time it takes to render is just unbelievably long. Lumion produces renders within seconds, the interface is very straightforward, it has a huge material library and you can import to it very easily, and it can handle quite large 3D files with no issues.
