CA🚨 Important Express Entry Update – Healthcare Category 🇨🇦
IRCC has issued an important notice regarding the Healthcare and Social Services category draw held on February 20, 2026.
Due to a technical issue, some candidates received an Invitation to Apply (ITA) even though they had only 6 months of work experience.
However, the correct requirement is at least 12 months of eligible work experience in the occupation.
⚠️ What does this mean?
• If you received an ITA but do not have 12 months of eligible work experience, you should decline the ITA immediately.
• Your profile will return to the Express Entry pool and you may be considered in future draws.
If you already submitted your PR application without meeting the 12-month requirement, IRCC recommends withdrawing the application.
❗ If you continue with the application without meeting the requirements:
• The application will likely be refused
• Processing fees will not be refunded
📌 Key change to note:
Express Entry category-based draws now require at least 12 months of qualifying work experience in the eligible occupation. Previously, the requirement was 6 months.
