CRLooking for the ULTIMATE munros to climb in the Scottish Highlands this summer? Here’s 5 of my favourites!👇
1. Bruach na Frìthe; the Isle of Skye: one of the “easiest” munros on Skye, this Munro summit is located on the eastern end of the Cuillin Ridge. You begin the climb from Sligachan and can expect it to take 5-7hours (allow plenty of time to take in the views of Britain’s most dramatic ridge, though!)
2. Blà Bheinn; the Isle of Skye: Also known as “Blaven”, this is Skye’s only standalone Munro. The ascent is steep and involves some moderate scrambling and an ascent through a scree gully, but there’s no extensive exposure. From the summit, you’ll be rewarded with some of the best views in the country. This is a favourite of mine!
3. An Teallach; Dundonnell: this is known as Scotland’s “most beautiful mountain” for a reason. Begin by ascending the mountain’s two munros, which are then followed by an absolutely sensational ridge traverse (grade 2/3 scramble). A favourite among many munro baggers and mountaineers.
4. Liathach; Torridon: one of the 3 Torridon Giants, this climb involves 2 Munro summits separated by a fantastic grade 2 ridge traverse. Some brilliant exposure on this one, with the Am Fas pinnacles always leaving you wanting more.
5. Sgùrr na Banachdaich; the Isle of Skye: another of Skye’s “most accessible” munros, this one leads you to the centre of the Cuillin Ridge. It begins at Glen Brittle youth hostel, near the Fairy Pools. Begin by ascending along some beautiful waterfalls before emerging at a steep shoulder ascent. The hike is fairly straightforward and requires no scrambling, although the final section onto the Ridge gets quite rocky and has no shortage of drama.

✅ Compleated our Munro round with a Cuillin Traverse
✅ Scrambled over all the big ridges, Alligin, Liathach, Aonach Eagach, and An Teallach via the spiciest line possible
✅ Booked a trip to Ecuador to climb our first 5,000m peak in 2025 🌋
28 hills since the since of June, a mix of old and new, Munros and Corbetts, sunshine and rain, and another season down in our forever home 🫶🏼

ELNext month, with the help of a climbing buddy & the wonderful @highland.climbing.company I am taking on the Cuillin Ridge Traverse which includes 11 Munros – one for every Scottish title I’ve won! – 22 peaks in total, plus climbing & scrambling along the 12 km ridge crest! One or two day traverses of the Cuillin Ridge, the UK’s most famous mountaineering expedition! This will be a trip to remember👌
£900 on as 1:1 basis or £960 on a 1:2 basis (£480 each) for a three day booking were we use the best two days for the traverse. If the weather is not suitable for a traverse we will do three separate days of guiding.

LAST WEEKEND WAS ANOTHER INCREDIBLE EXPERIENCE UP IN THE BLACK CUILLIN! A SMALL GROUP OF US WENT UP WITH A SET MISSION, AN STAC, IN PINN AND AS MORE MANY PEAKS AND SCRAMBLES WE COULD MANAGE! WE SUMMITED 5 TOPS AS A TEAM THEN PARTED WAYS AFTER WE'D ALL SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETELY THE INACCESSIBLE PINNACLE, THE AN STAC, COLLIES LEDGE, SGURR MHIC CHOINNICH, THEARLAIC RIDGE, SGURR THEARLAIC, AND THE HIGHEST POINT ON THE WHOLE ISLAND SGURR ALASDAIR!
ONCE THE WEATHER TOOK A TURN FOR THE WORSE AND ONE OF OUR CREW WASN'T FEELING VERY WELL HE DECIDED TO HEAD DOWN WITH HIS SON VIA THE RIDGE THAT HEADS BACK DOWN TOWARDS GLENBRITTLE FROM THE SUMMIT OF SGURR DEARG!
I DECIDED TO KEEP PUSHING FORWARD AS IT WAS ONLY HALF 3 IN THE AFTERNOON BY THIS POINT AND THE WEATHER FORECAST WAS PREDICTING IT TO START CLEARING UP BY ABOUT 5PM WHICH IN THE END ACTUALLY TURNED OUT TO BE MORE LIKE 8PM BUT I WASNT TO KNOW THAT AT THE TIME SO I STILL PUSHED ON ANYHOW.
I MANAGED TO BAG ANOTHER 9 PEAKS ON MY OWN WHICH ENDED UP BEING THE 3 TOPS OF SGURR BANACHDIACH THEN THE 2 TOPS OF SGURR GREADAIDH AND FINALLY THE 4 ABSOLUTELY MENTAL TOPS OF MHADAIDH TAKING MY TOTAL SUMMITS FOR THE DAY TO 14!
I THINK AFTER ANOTHER COUPLE OF MISSIONS UP THERE I'LL BE CONFIDENT WNOUGH TO HOPEFULLY ATTEMPT THE FULL TRAVERSE NEXT YEAR IN ONE DAY!
WHAT A CRAZY BUT MAGINCAL EXPERIENCE IT WAS!

BA🧠 Psychological Breakdown – Traverse City Ride Incident.
In seconds, a carnival turned into a scene of potential disaster. The ride snapped, sped up violently, and began to tip. People screamed. And then—something eerie happened.
They ran toward it.
No training. No time to think. Just bare hands against a steel machine. That’s not bravery. That’s something far more primal… and disturbing.
Because in that moment, something ancient overrode survival. It wasn’t logic—it was human wiring breaking protocol. Psychologists call it prosocial risk-taking, but it feels more like a glitch in evolution: the willingness to die for people you’ve never met.
This wasn’t a heroic act from one or two. It was a collective response. They moved as a group, like a hive mind—but with no orders. No hesitation. No promise of safety.
That kind of unity doesn’t come from thinking. It comes from something deeper. Something we don’t control.
And here’s the chilling part: they didn’t know if it would work.
The ride could’ve crushed them.
But they held the line anyway.
Why? Maybe because the brain can’t handle helplessness. Maybe because fear shared is fear halved.
Or maybe—just maybe—we are wired to protect life, even if it costs us our own.
Beneath fear, beneath instinct… something sacred moved.
Not everyone will understand that moment.
But those who do—felt it in their bones.

Liathach is rated by many mountaineers and hillwalkers as Scotland's finest mountain, challenged only by An Teallach and the Cuillin of Skye. Its traverse is an expedition that will be remembered forever.⠀

Well-trodden but very steep terrain throughout. There is mild rock scrambling en-route to the ridge, and some awkward bouldery terrain along it. The Am Fasarinen pinnacles involve some trickier scrambling, and the alternative bypass path is very exposed. The descent from Mullach an Rathain is also very steep.⠀

Please note that hillwalking when there is snow lying requires an ice-axe, crampons and the knowledge, experience and skill to use them correctly.⠀
