Deloads work, you’re just need to know the rules! First rule - you need to load before you deload. This means you need to be lifting weights heavy enough and working hard enough to deserve a deload. If you’re in your first 12 months of training, you probably don’t deserve one yet. Second rule - the best deload strategy isn’t an entire week off. Save the week off for when life forces it, such as sickness, family holiday, or something out of your control. Third rule - try my strategy, which is to reduce the volume by cutting your sets in half and maintaining or even slightly increasing load. Save this video and thank me later 👊 #deload

Anyone who’s been consistent with their training knows progress is NOT linear 😅 A deload week is when you reduce ⬇️ 1. Intensity (how hard you train) 2. Load (amount of weight) 3. Volume (amount of sets) Rest days are to give your muscles a break. Deload weeks are to give your nervous system a break - So they should be taken just as seriously 🙏 During this time focus on turning the dial down, you are not stalling your goals! It takes a lot longer than you think to lose muscle mass or lose progress. Remember, if you don’t take a deload, a deload will take you 👀

🔹Deload week?🔹 • • Can certainly be beneficial when used appropriately!🔑 • Pro athletes? - Good to take a break after a long season for a bit and let your body recover. 🏈🏀 • During the off-season or for most general population? - I don’t think it’s necessary because most people simply just don’t train hard enough to make it necessary. 🤷🏽‍♂️ • A good S&C program also has it periodized where volume and load fluctuates appropriately.🤌 • • This is just my 2 cents given my experience working with various populations over the years. Feel free to agree or disagree! 🧐

It takes 2–4 weeks of consistent heavy lifting for your system to fire on all cylinders again. That’s when you peak. Deloads aren’t there to make you stronger next week. But not once was any of it designed around the fact that my body runs on a 28-day cycle, not a 24-hour one. That is not a knock on my coaches. Female biology just was not part of the conversation. It still barely is. So when your energy crashes, your recovery tanks, and nothing feels like it is working, you do not get answers. You get told to show up harder. That is not a discipline problem. That is a design problem. Your body is not broken. It was just never part of the blueprint. Follow along.
