If your weight goes UP during the week…this is normal ⚖️ Comment ‘RECIPE’ for my FREE weight loss recipe book. Even if you’re: • Eating in a calorie deficit • Hitting your steps • Exercising consistently The scale can still rise — and it doesn’t mean fat gain. Most short-term weight changes are food + fluid related, not body fat 👇🏼 • Food still sitting in your stomach/bowels • Hydration changes • Work stress (often higher mid-week, drops on weekends) • More salt than usual • Digestive issues / constipation • Fluid retention from hard training • Poor sleep And for women 👇🏼 The week before + week of your period, fluid retention can increase 1–3kg. That can look like a plateau — or even weight gain — despite doing everything right. 📊 This is why daily weigh-ins are data, not judgement. They help you see patterns, averages, and how your body responds. But expecting the scale to constantly go down? That’s where things get damaging. It can lead to: • Food guilt • Self-sabotage • Loss of confidence • “Stuff it” moments with food • A vicious cycle that keeps you stuck ✨ What actually matters: Give yourself at least 4 consistent weeks in a calorie deficit across your menstrual cycle before changing anything. Then assess: • Are calories too low → causing snacking/binges? • Do you need a diet break? • Or (least likely) a small calorie drop — only if you’ve truly followed the plan to a T Trust the process.
