As a completely self taught dancer (with zero ballet experience) I've taught myself advanced flexibility skills through my understanding of anatomy & flexibility training! & You can too!! Contrary to popular belief, you need to do more than stretch to get flexiblility that you can control in movement. You need to train passive stretching, dynamic exercises, & active strengthening of the range of motion! Extentions & tilts require a LOT of hip flexor strength, so give these mobility & strengthening exercises a try & let me know how they go! ^.^ Ready to level up your flexibility this year? If you’re struggling with stiffness, tight hamstrings, or lingering back pain, the Jefferson Curl is one of the most effective exercises to build strength, mobility, and resilience in your spine. ✅ How to Do Jefferson Curls: • Start by standing tall on a small platform with a light weight (even a pair of dumbbells). • Slowly roll your spine down, one vertebra at a time, allowing your head and arms to lead. • Keep your knees softly bent, but let the stretch deepen through your hamstrings and spine. • Lower as far as your mobility allows, then roll back up slowly, stacking each vertebra. • Begin with 2–3 sets of 6–8 slow reps with very light weight. 👉 Start light, stay consistent, and watch your back pain reduce while your mobility improves. back pain exercises, lower back pain relief, spine mobility, jefferson curl exercise, hamstring stretch, how to fix back pain, mobility training, back pain workout, injury prevention, posture correction, glute strengthening, spine health, back stiffness relief, mobility drills, strength training for back pain, posterior chain workout, stretching routine, lower back stretch, back strengthening exercises, chronic pain relief, mobility routine, flexibility training, fitness tips for back pain, reduce back pain, gym exercises for mobility, at home back pain exercises, spine strengthening, hamstring mobility, prevent back pain, functional training for back pain, safe exercise for back pain, how to improve flexibility, mobility for athletes, exercise for desk job back pain, bodyweight mobility drills, fix tight hamstrings, injury rehab exercises, mobility for beginners, posture improvement workout, safe strength training, exercises for office workers, yoga for back pain, flexibility routine, build spinal strength, back injury prevention, exercises for healthy spine, back health exercises, stretching for back pain, mobility for gym goers, lower back mobility, fitness for back pain.

An article on exercise and memory suggests that the brain boost you get from exercise involves “several direct and indirect mechanisms at molecular and supramolecular levels.” While many questions remain about the relationship between exercise and cognitive strengthening, there’s evidence to suggest the following: -Exercise improves circulation, which means more oxygen-rich blood and nutrients make it to your brain. It also means waste is removed more efficiently. -Exercise enhances synaptic plasticity, which is, put simply, your brain’s ability to adjust and improve the connections in your brain. That enables you to both remember and learn. -Exercise improves neurogenesis — the formation of new neurons in your brain. Those new neurons help us sort information, remember specific moments in time and avoid confusion. There’s also evidence that neurogenesis helps us handle stress and emotions and may even help us forget harmful memories. What type of exercises to try: The conventional wisdom used to be that aerobic exercise was your best bet for brain health. But in 2022, the EXERT trial changed the conversation. The EXERT trial found that, while cardio may have more benefits in the short term, strength and balance training are just as beneficial for brain health in the long run. Combining all three forms of physical activity has always been important for whole-body health, especially as we get older and lose things like bone density, muscle tone and flexibility. “Choose whatever aerobic or resistance activity you enjoy,” memory and brain health specialist Babak Tousi, MD, recommends. “The most important thing is that you’re getting up and moving on a regular basis.” Not sure of the difference between cardio, strength and balance training? Here’s a quick explainer: -Aerobic (cardiovascular) exercise is all about raising your heart rate and building endurance. -Strength training is designed to either build or maintain muscles, which get weaker as we get older. -Balance and flexibility training preserves proprioception (spatial awareness) and expands joint mobility, which helps keep us from falling. #WomenAndAlzheimers

3 reasons why reformer Pilates is beneficial:⁣ ⁣ 1. Builds Core Strength: Reformer Pilates focuses on controlled movements that engage the deep abdominal muscles. Having a strong core is essential for overall stability and can help prevent injuries in everyday activities (like blowing out your lower back simply by reaching down into a top-loading washing machine! 🤦🏻‍♀️)⁣ ⁣ 2. Enhances Flexibility: The reformer allows for a greater range of motion and assists in stretching and lengthening your muscles effectively (so beneficial for your overall mobility).⁣ ⁣ 3. Improves Posture: Reformer exercises and movements emphasize alignment and body awareness, helping to correct poor posture habits. Better posture = reduced strain on the spine⁣ ⁣ ➜ “You are never too old to set another goal or to dream a new dream.” 📍: @fitbodiesfitminds Sault Ste.
