It’s a constant give and take, and most importantly having the discipline it takes to see it through. Got dry needling yesterday on my shoulder, with @directperformancept @dfurrow58 and kept my overhead squats light and just moved through with Rhythm- I’m a huge advocate for dry needling and is definitely a staple when needed to help aid in recovery in problem or tight areas. Here’s my full training #ToeTheLine OH squats 5x5 Three sets of: Hip Thrusters x 15 Deficit plìe squats x 15 Deficit reverse lunges x 12/s For time: Four rounds BB OH carry x 50 yards Run back 50 yards Farmers carry x 50 yards Run back 50 yards Sled Drags x 50 yards Run 50 yards Run 50 yards grab the BB and do it all again. www.AshleyHorner.co **also love these knee sleeves by @gymreapers and I recently got their wrist wraps they are excellent 💯

Wanna grow glutes ? Will be plugging in some weekly updates on the subject for some weeks. Hip thrusts are a highly effective exercise for glute growth, particularly because they maximize glute activation and can be loaded heavily for progressive overload. Studies show hip thrusts produce greater or equal glute hypertrophy compared to squats when training volume is matched, and they elicit higher EMG (muscle activation) in the glutes than both squats and deadlifts. Dont get me wrong. Deadlifts and Squats are important too. Also relevant are exercises that work Glute medius. For the first update on the subject, I wish to bring your focus to HIP THRUSTERS - i call them ‘King of Glute workouts’. The idea is to keep this muscle under tension for long, to help grow it. Also, I don’t wish to add a load for you, which is tough for you to lift. For instance - while I can lift 100 kgs on hip thrusters when attempting Hypertrophy, that’s not what I wish you begin along in the attempt grow glutes immediately. Focus on form, focus on Time under Tension for now. Do this exercise, as shown in the video for 4 to 6 weeks, and execute it every once a week. 10-10-10, is what I call it. Lift a lighter load which you can sustain lifting for 20 to 22 reps. In 1 go, with no rest in between, perform: 👉10 full range of Motion - hip thrusters 👉10 half range of motion - hip thrusters 👉10 secs of hold at the top of hip thruster. Now 2 mins rest - repeat 3 sets. Week 1 - I started with 15 kgs and by week 3 it came to 20 kgs. Do measure glute inches each week for 6 to 8 weeks.
