۱ : مهمترین صفاتی که یک داعی الی الله باید به آن توجه داشته باشد اینست که الگوی ایمانداری، تقوا ، و عمل باشد به انچه که مردم را دعوت می دهد خودش عامل باشد .
به یقین می توان ادعا کرد که اکثر اصحاب و یاران آن حضرت صلی الله علیه وسلم اولین داعیان بر حق اسلام بودند یگانه عامل موفقیت شان در راه دعوت الی الله همان ایمان و باورمندی شان نسبت به الله و اخرت بوده آنها اول ایمان یاد گرفتند بعدا قرآن را یاد گرفتند ( تعلمنا الایمان ثم تعلمنا القرآن ) نخست ایمان آموختیم سپس قرآن آموختیم.
۲ : ویژگی دومی که داعی باید به آن متصف باشد ، اخلاص در راه دعوت الی الله است
دعوت و تبلیغ شان فقط به خاطر الله باشد نه بخاطر احترام ، تعریف ، آمریت و آرزوی های نفسانی هر نبی برای قوم خود خطاب می کردند ( و ما اسئلکم علیه اجرا آن آجری الا علی رب العالمین ) الشعراء : ۱۶۴
و ما در ( مقابل دعوت و تبلیغ ) از شما مزد نمی خواهیم مزد و اجر ما بر عهده پروردگار جهانیان است .
۳ : داعی با مخاطبش به اندازه درک و فهم شان صحبت کند .
قول حضرت علی رضی الله عنه است : با مردم به اندازه فهم و درکشان سخن بگویید.
۴ : بر داعی لازم است
