Here is the raw clip of the whole test and a couple of details: Date: 16/02/26 Height: 189cm Weight: 102kgs Age: 25 13 years ago when I started rowing they had us doing a 1k erg test on one of the first days to rank us all. I was so nervous and the only part I liked about the experience was when it was over (think I went around 4:15-4:25). That sense of relief after an erg test is something I still experience now, but overall I love the whole process The main part of the process I love is the pursuit of pushing myself to be better than I ever have before. The satisfaction of reaching a new personal best time is addictive. I’ve always dreamed that one day, by going for a new personal best, I would in turn be going for a world record as well. Having this incredible score and target to reach for has taken my past my perceived limits and self doubts, and for that I am very grateful @bigphil90 set the standard in this event, and it was special to even have a go at improving his time. The rowing community is so supportive and keen to help each other be the best they can be, it’s been a real honour to speak with so many legends of the sport in preparation for this effort. Without their help I wouldn’t have ever thought this was possible. Also, a huge thank you to eveyone that supported me on the day, your energy helped so much I’m looking forward to the day my time gets beaten as it’s awesome seeing so many rowers push their limits and set new benchmarks. Hopefully I’ll be in the position to challenge for the record again when that time comes!

Comment “Technique” below for a form review. This is how pros row. For steady state rowing workouts at low stroke rate, you’re burning useless effort by punching your arms out on the return. It’s using your shoulders, and there is no need for that on the return. For sprints, yes, your hands have to go more “straight in and out”. But for long rows? Try this instead: ✅ Relax your arms down and out. No shoulder tension, keeping the handle low to the thighs ✅ As soon as the handle passes your knees, bend them, and slowly ✨ trickle ✨ your hands upwards to the catch. The clock starts when you enter the row station. But that split still doesn’t reflect true work time. It includes: • moving through the station • finding an open rower • strapping in • getting settled before the first pull By the time you account for that, a “3:40 row” is often 4:00–4:20+ of continuous effort. Why this matters: If you only train to hit a fast monitor split, you’re missing the demand of the full station. HYROX exposes athletes who can row fast fresh but fall apart once breathing is high, have poor transitions, and don’t hustle to the row machine. How to train it better: Row immediately off running or sleds Practice fast strap-in / strap-out Program rows by total station time, not just pace Train for the station. Not the split.

Clip de arriba 👉🏼 23-24 SPM 👉🏼 Max HR: 139 bpm Clip de abajo 👉🏼 33-34 SPM 👉🏼 Max HR: 164 bpm Entonces, ¿cuál es la diferencia? A una cadencia más baja: - Enfoque en generar mayor potencia y drive con las piernas en cada jalón. - Mayor tiempo de recuperación entre jalones. A una cadencia más alta: - Cada jalón es más ligero. - Pero la fase de recuperación es mucho más corta. Para mí: 👉🏼 Un cadencia más alta incrementa la demanda cardiovascular 👉🏼 Menos tiempo para recuperarse entre jalones 👉🏼 A pesar de que cada jalón es más ligero, mi ritmo cardiaco se eleva más rápido. Con una cadencia más baja: 👉🏼 Drive más fuerte combinado con una recuperación más larga 👉🏼 Respiración más controlada 👉🏼 Ritmo cardiaco más bajo, incluso al mismo pace ¿Y esto qué significa para Hyrox? El remo es el inicio de la 2da mitad de tu carrera. Idealmente, es un oportunidad de recuperar control de tu respiración para el resto de tu evento. ❌ Tu objetivo no es solo mantener un pace. ✅ Es remar de una manera que te permita moverte eficientemente mientras te recuperas Algunos atletas se recuperan mejor con jalones largos y fuertes. Otros siente mayor fluidez con un ritmo más rápido y jalones más ligeros. ¿Cómo encontrar tu mejor estrategia? Prueba diferentes combinaciones en training: 1️⃣ Escoge un pace 2️⃣ Rema 500m a una cadencia baja (22-24 SPM) 3️⃣ Descansa 3-4 min 4️⃣ Repite a una cadencia alta (30+ SPM) ➡️ Compara ritmo cardiaco, respiración y fatiga. El remo no debería sentirse como una estación más a la que tienes que sobrevivir. Se debe de sentir como una recuperación activa controlada.
