The skins and bindings let you walk uphill to your favorite spot, then convert it back to a snowboard to ride down. Splitboarding is the best way to unlock new areas for fresh turns, and a solid way to spend the day outside away from the crowds at the resorts👌🏼 #splitboarding #wintersports

I had no idea these existed!!! For the longest time I thought to get into the backcountry in winter, you HAD to be a skier. Everyone I’ve ever seen out “touring” goes uphill on 2 skis which made the idea of snowboarding in the backcountry seem pretty outlandish. BUT THEN I was introduced to a SPLITboard- which is pretty much just a snowboard that splits into two ski-like halves for uphill travel, then locks back together for the ride down (srsly whoever invented this is a genius) This is my first season splitboarding, and I’ve been absolutely loving it. It has combined two of my favorite activities- hiking and snowboarding- and is my new favorite way to get some exercise in winter! My (beginner) setup 👇🏼 Splitboard: @westonbackcountry rise Bindings: @sparkrandd arc ST Skins: @westonbackcountry approach skins Pucks: @sparkrandd Poles: currently using my hiking poles & I just bought snow baskets for them!! Splitboarding has completely changed the way I experience winter and has really been the BEST counter fight to seasonal depression I’ve ever had! #splitboard #splitboarding #backcountrysnowboarding
