YO5 tips for studying organic chemistry: ⬇️ 🧪
1. Start a daily study habit. Since organic chemistry needs to be practiced regularly to be learned, I recommend setting aside 30 minutes daily to study. The repetition will help you solidly learning.
2. Go over notes after class. With organic chemistry, it’s best not to wait to review. I liked going over my notes a day or two after class since the concepts were still fresh.
3. Practice problems. Organic chemistry involves a lot of problem solving, so practice problems as much as possible. Don’t just memorize content, learn to apply it.
4. Use flashcards to memorize reactions and reagents. The overwhelming amount of content is the most difficult part of OChem. I made flashcards to help me out. Once we learned 25 reactions in just one class! This is essential.
5. Finally, learn your professor’s teaching style. I realized that most professors have a very specific way of teaching organic Chem so pay attention to how they write their exams, the types of questions they ask, and what they think is important.
