Third trimester x pregnancy ball — a match made in heaven 👏🏼 If you don’t already, purchase a pregnancy ball so that you can best support and stretch your body as it prepares for birth! I absolutely love this movement. It gets harder to stretch and move your legs during the third trimester and this is a perfect movement to stretch your inner thighs and hips. It feels so good as you slowly move side to side and really exaggerate your stance so that you can feel the best stretch Sit up straight, breathe through the movement (in the way down and out on the way up) and go slow as you connect your breath to the movement Third trimester your only focus should be lengthening your pelvic floor (not engaging it) to prep for birth, so just know that when you breathe IN you are lengthening your pelvic floor !!!!! 🔖🔖🔖 Mat is @shopstakt Pregnancy ball is @trideer_official Set is @bumpsuit the Kate Socks are @ootbrand with mama inspo on them 🥲 PREGNANT MAMAS - SAVE THIS MOVEMENT 👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼

There are a lot of things that are made challenging by pregnancy… One of them in the gym? HIP THRUSTS! Barbells are usually too uncomfortable once the bump gets big enough. Single leg hip thrusts are great but can be time consuming, difficult to stabilize, & sometimes uncomfortable if you’re struggling with pelvic pain! There are devices out there you can purchase, but I’ve always been a fan of saving some $$ ! 🙏🏼Enter: stretch strap hip thrusts! Works best with two kettlebells, but could use plates or DBs, too. 🙌🏻Love that the strap is flexible so I can get into hip flexion without smashing my bump. 🙌🏻The load hangs down, further from your center of gravity & more challenging with lighter loads. 🙌🏻Holding onto the weights cues the REACH to engage lats, something we often forget but is so important for stability at the top! I’m on my tippy toes/a box so I can get more range of motion as I hinge & my knees & shoulders are level at the top 🔑 Stretch strap is ~$10 from Amazon, Trideer is the brand. Also handy for a quad stretch once you can lie on your belly again! 🤪 Shoutout to @hannahbower2 for the original exercise inspo! Hannah used a booty band across the lap, with weights on either side! Another option if you have a sturdy band 👍. Hip extension & flexion are two things we tend to lose in pregnancy! While some loss is inevitable, I’m all about preserving connection as much as possible to stack the deck in my favor postpartum!
