CI❄️ According to the @NWS, we *could* receive 6-12 inches of snow at elevations above 5,000 ft and 18-24 inches of snow above 7,000 ft between Wednesday, March 5th and Friday, March 7th. If you’re planning to be in #BigBearLake in the next few days, download our app, Big Bear Lake 365. Know before you go, so you can enjoy the snow! ⛄️🎿
🚜 Our Public Works staff and contract support crews begin plowing City-maintained streets when snow accumulation reaches 3 inches, and continue these efforts until streets are cleared. Our partners @caltrans8 are responsible for clearing Big Bear Boulevard (SR-18) and the state highways leading up to Big Bear.
🗺️ We want to remind motorists to monitor road conditions frequently, exercise caution while driving in the mountains during inclement weather, carry appropriately sized tire chains or cables, and avoid parking on city streets when snow conditions exist - you could be fined or towed.
