OU⚠️Explanation: At the Baikonur Cosmodrome, two Soviet space shuttles remain in a decaying hangar, remnants of the Soviet space shuttle program. (🎥cr: @chazlerenard)
The first shuttle, Buran, flew an unmanned mission in 1988, but after the Soviet Union collapsed, the program was halted. In 2002, the roof of their hangar partially collapsed, causing damage to the Buran orbiter. However, both Buran and the second shuttle, Ptichka, which never flew, remain largely intact.
These spacecraft, now slowly deteriorating, still stand as haunting symbols of Soviet space ambitions, their structures recognizable despite the years of neglect and exposure to the harsh environment.
