Snowflake just announced Cortex AISQL functions, and they’re changing the way we write SQL— ESPECIALLY when it comes to multimodal unstructured data 🥵 Imagine being able to query, summarize, aggregate, and even join on images, documents, and audio transcriptions.
These functions turn the SQL we all know and love into an AI query language that can transform and analyze multimodal data from a variety of data sources (even unstructured 🌶️) using familiar SQL commands. They can be leveraged in WHERE, GROUP BY, and even JOIN with only 1 line of code using an LLM and a natural language prompt. You can even semantically join and fuzzy match across different types of data using LLMs like:
TableA JOIN TableB on AI_FILTER(’natural language text here’)
Think about how useful this will be to match multimodal data sources like resumes with job descriptions… or even customer support emails with bug report screenshots. This is actually an insane advancement in SQL & AI, and I’m SPEECHLESS!!

Оператор SELECT осуществляет выборку из базы данных
Команда DISTINCT позволяет выбирать только уникальные значения из базы данных
Команда WHERE задает условие, по которому будут выбираться строки из базы данных.
SELECT * FROM имя_таблицы
SELECT * FROM имя_таблицы WHERE условие
SELECT поле1, поле2... FROM имя_таблицы WHERE условие
При выборке:
SELECT DISTINCT поле FROM имя_таблицы WHERE условие
При подсчете:
SELECT COUNT(DISTINCT поле) FROM имя_таблицы WHERE условие
При суммировании:
SELECT SUM(DISTINCT поле) FROM имя_таблицы WHERE условие
В запросе можно задавать следующие условия:
• сравнение текста;
• сравнение численных значений;
• логические операции AND (и), OR (или) и NOT (отрицание).
