DRA pulled elbow, also known as nursemaid’s elbow, is a common injury in young children (typically under five years old) where the radius (one of the forearm bones) slips out of its normal position at the elbow joint.
It often occurs when a child’s arm is pulled or lifted suddenly by the hand or wrist.
The child may hold their arm slightly bent and avoid using it due to pain.

Proximal humerus fracture (Torus/Salter-Harris) 👶 Mind diversion ও gentle palpation এর মাধ্যমে অনেক সময় তুমি পেয়ে যেতে পারো fracture এর আসল clue, যা অপ্রয়োজনীয় এক্স-রে কমাতে সাহায্য করবে এবং শিশুর radiation exposure-ও কমবে। 📌 এই কেসটিতে সবগুলো পয়েন্টেই ব্যথা ছিল না — কিন্তু শুধুমাত্র forearm supination করতে গেলেই তীব্র ব্যথা! ✅ Diagnosis: Pulled Elbow (Nursemaid's Elbow). DRPulled elbow release demonstrated to parents.
I have been seeing @shruthiaileni 's kid since he was born from sanctum days. They moved a bit far for work. The kid while playing with grandpa fell on him and twisted his arm. They took him to local hospital but x ray and drugs dint help so they travelled 300 kilometers overnight and reached me. After history and examination, i suspected a pulled elbow and this time as they stay far away demonstrated parents how to release when the kid has one more pulled elbow in future : coz it recurs till 5 to 6 yrs of age.
Most important part is the hand holding the kids elbow should be pressing on the bony prominences till the hand is completely flexed.

A pulled elbow is a result of the lower arm (radius bone) becoming partially dislocated (subluxation) of its normal position at the elbow joint. A pulled elbow is caused by a sudden pull on a child’s lower arm or wrist, for example when a child is lifted up by one arm. It can also happen when a child falls.
Treatment usually involves a simple correction manoeuver done by a doctor followed by simple pain killers.
In a few major cases x ray and orthopaedic evaluation may be required.
