💡 A glass prism is a transparent object, typically made of glass, with flat, polished surfaces that refract (bend) light as it passes through. It has a specific geometric shape, often with a triangular cross-section, and when white light enters, it separates into its constituent colors to form a spectrum, a phenomenon called dispersion. This happens because different colors of light bend at slightly different angles as they pass through the glass.   #Deviation #GlassPrism #Physics #Optics

---Follow Us--- Let’s uncover the physics behind rainbows. 🌧️🌈 💡 How do they form? 1. Sunlight enters a raindrop and slows down, bending (refraction). 2. Inside, light reflects off the back of the raindrop. 3. As it exits, it refracts again, splitting into its different colours (dispersion). ✅ Why do you see an arc? Because only light at a specific angle (~42°) reaches your eyes as a rainbow. 🌈 👉 Nature is full of hidden science and beauty. #physics #rainbow #optics #sciencefacts #nature #mindblown #interestingfacts #knowledge #learning #sciencenerd #light #refraction #dispersion #viralvideos #discoveries Did you know how rainbows are formed?

✅ Follow us ✅ Magic of Refraction!! In a situation where the glass and the liquid have matching refractive indices, the light passing through does not bend at the interface between the glass and the liquid. This lack of refraction means that there's no visual cue to indicate the presence of the glass, rendering it effectively "invisible" to the naked eye. Let’s bend some light and minds with this simple science magic! 🪄💧 This water refraction illusion will wow your little one and teach them how light changes direction when it moves through water. 🔬🌈 ⸻ 🧪 Items You Need: ✅ A glass (transparent) ✅ A piece of paper with an arrow drawn ✅ Water ✅ Candle or a well-lit area ⸻ 👩‍🔬 Steps to Try: 1️⃣ Draw an arrow on paper and place it behind an empty glass. 2️⃣ Look through the empty glass – the arrow looks normal. 3️⃣ Now, fill the glass with water and look again… 4️⃣ Woah! 😲 The arrow appears to flip direction! 🔁 5️⃣ That’s refraction – the bending of light through different materials! ⸻ 🎯 Fun Learning Tip: Try it with different shapes or objects behind the glass to see how they change too! Light rays refract when they traverse through different transparent mediums, bending due to changes in speed when moving through different optical densities. If you've ever went swimming, you would've noticed that a person's lower torso that is submerged in water always seems shorter! Well its because of refraction.🔦💡⤵️ Notably, when light passes from a denser to a less dense medium, it refracts away from the normal, and this happens as long as the angle of incidence is less than the critical angle. In this video, the critical angle of the glass block is 41.8°, given that the refractive index of the glass block is 1.5 n = sin r / sin i (in this case, the angle of refraction (90°) > angle of incidence, so r is placed on top. sin90 = 1) n = 1 / sin C n is the refractive index C is the critical angle Total internal reflection occurs under specific conditions when the angle of incidence is more than the critical angle🪞🪞🔦 This principle is critical in applications such as fiber optic communication (in wifi systems) and checking the authenticity of gemstones (whether a diamond is real or not).📶📶💎💍💍 Video credit: https://youtu.be/NAaHPRsveJk?si=D83Sakk7_aBdU1-2 #light #physics #sciencesimplified #science #singapore #learninginprogress #cool #refraction #refection #bedok #ongandlow

how different types of mirrors interact with a beam of parallel light rays, demonstrating their distinct reflective properties. Plane Mirror: A plane mirror has a flat reflecting surface. When parallel light rays strike it, they reflect in a parallel manner, following the laws of reflection (angle of incidence equals angle of reflection at each point). This results in a virtual, upright image of the same size as the object. Concave Mirror: A concave mirror curves inward, like the inside of a spoon, and is also called a converging mirror. It focuses the parallel light rays to a single point called the principal focus after reflection. This property is used in applications like solar furnaces and car headlights to concentrate light. Convex Mirror: A convex mirror bulges outward, and is known as a diverging mirror. It causes the parallel light rays to spread out or diverge after reflection. The reflected rays appear to originate from a virtual focal point behind the mirror. This wide field of view makes them ideal for use as rear-view mirrors in vehicles and for security purposes.source ›@explainingscience_

Light is trapped inside this glass. But how?! Glass is denser than air and therefore has a higher refractive index. When light propagates in a glass tube or fiber and and hits its surface at a small enough angle, it gets reflected back into glass, even though both glass and air are transparent for light. This effect is called total internal reflection. This is why we can use optical glass fibers to send information encoded in modulated light over thousands of kilometers. This effect is also used in binoculars and many other optical instruments and devices. 👍 LIKE and FOLLOW for fun science content! ➡️ Follow links at linktr.ee/tamuphysastr or link in bio. #tamu #science #physics #viral #viralreels #scientist #tamuphysics #reels #reelsinstagram #teachersofinstagram #teachers #teachersfollowteachers #education #fun #educate #educational #learn #learnoninstagram #shorts #fyp #fypシ #foryou #foryoupage #experiment #DrTatiana #light #laser
