Stop doing random exercises that leave you tired but don’t support your sport performance. A strong session for a young athlete usually looks like this: Start with mobility. Open up your hips, ankles, and shoulders so you can move properly and lift safely. If you are adding speed work, do it next. Quick feet, sprints, or explosive drills should happen early while your body is fresh. Speed needs quality and intent, not fatigue. Then move into your heavy compound lifts. Squats, deadlifts, presses, rows. This is where real strength is built and where athletes create the foundation for performance. After that comes accessory work. Single leg strength, core, stability, and smaller muscle groups that support your sport and help reduce injury risk. And through all of it, one thing matters most: progressive overload. As a young athlete, you need to gradually challenge your body over time. A little more weight. A few more reps. Better control. Cleaner form. That is how strength actually develops. Not from random workouts, but from structured training repeated consistently. Move well. Lift with intention. Get stronger week by week. SAVE for your next workout. SEND to your workout partner. FOLLOW if you’re interested in learning how to level up. Wrong hand placement on the balance beam can reduce stability and increase the risk of losing balance. It may also limit proper technique, making skills harder and slower to master. Correct hand placement helps athletes maintain control, build confidence, and train safely with strong fundamentals. #BalanceBeam #GymnasticsTraining #GymnasticsSafety #GymnasticsBasics #KidsGymnastics #GymnasticsEssendon #EssendonGymnastics #KidsGymnasticsMelbourne #GymnasticsMelbourne #StructuredTraining #GymnasticsSkills #JuniorGymnastics #AthleteDevelopment #GymnasticsCoaching #ActiveKidsMelbourne

Most parents think tight hips mean more stretching. That’s not the problem. Your kid is tight because their body doesn’t control this position — so it avoids it. When the body avoids positions: • speed drops • change of direction disappears • hips feel “locked” • injuries start showing up mid-season This isn’t a fancy drill. It’s not exciting. It just works. And most athletes never do it — which is exactly why it matters. Save this. Have your athlete try it before practice, not after. #sportsparents #youthathletes #hipmobility #athletedevelopment #speedtraining

STOP SCROLLING — Your hips might be holding back your speed. 👀 Most athletes think speed comes from quads and hamstrings… But the real engine is the hips and glutes. That’s why mini bands are a staple in my training. They force the glutes, hip stabilizers, and abductors to fire — muscles responsible for: ⚡ Explosive acceleration ⚡ Powerful change of direction ⚡ Knee stability ⚡ Balance and body control Weak hips lead to: ❌ Knees collapsing inward ❌ Slower cuts and turns ❌ Loss of power ❌ Higher injury risk Mini bands create constant tension, forcing those stabilizing muscles to stay engaged through the entire movement. That means you're building stronger hips, better mechanics, and more explosive movement. Small band. BIG results. 🔥 If you're serious about becoming a faster, stronger athlete, don't skip the hip work. Drop a 🔥 if you train hips or a 💪 if you're adding this to your workouts. — Coach Marcus Athletic Sculpting Link in bio to vote and help me become Mr Health and Fitness 2026‼️ #AthleteDevelopment #SpeedTraining #AthleticPerformance #StrengthAndConditioning #GluteStrength

“Commitment to excellence isn’t a one-time choice — it’s a lifestyle. Tom Brady didn’t become the GOAT by motivation alone… he built a plan, stayed accountable, and executed relentlessly. Every champion has a daily checklist: 1️⃣ Commit to your vision. 2️⃣ Build an action plan. 3️⃣ Stay accountable — even when no one’s watching. 4️⃣ Execute with discipline and consistency. Success in wrestling, business, or life isn’t given — it’s earned through preparation, repetition, and self-accountability. Your habits reflect your standards. Champions aren’t lucky — they’re locked in. #CommitToExcellence”

It’s extremely important to me that our athletes build a strong, rigid foot because everything starts from the ground up. 👣⚡️ That step foot has to be able to produce, absorb, and redistribute force while staying balanced. When the foot is strong and intentional, the entire kinetic chain stays connected and powerful. That’s why we layer in acceleration drills from split positions and multiple force vectors. The game isn’t linear. Athletes have to explode from uncomfortable angles, unilateral stances, and reactive situations. Training this way teaches them how to decelerate, stabilize, and re-accelerate efficiently—which is where real separation and durability are built. If you want to understand why we train this way and how to apply it, tap in and grab the e-books 📚💪🏾 They break down the principles, progressions, and purpose behind our sports performance system so you can start building smarter, more resilient athletes. #TeamAscension #SportsPerformance #AthleteDevelopment #GroundUpTraining #EliteMovement
