Follow (US) ๐Ÿ‘‰๐Ÿผ @TECHNOLOGY to learn something new everyday! ๐Ÿ’ซ๐Ÿค– Carbon plate insoles are a technological advancement in footwear, primarily used in high-performance running and racing shoes. These lightweight, rigid plates are typically embedded within the midsole to enhance energy return, propulsion, and running efficiency. By acting as a lever, carbon plates help reduce fatigue and improve stride mechanics, making them popular among competitive athletes and marathon runners. When combined with responsive foam, they provide a spring-like effect, aiding in faster transitions and reduced muscle strain. However, some runners find them too stiff for daily training, preferring traditional insoles for better flexibility and comfort. While carbon plate insoles can improve speed and endurance, their benefits depend on individual running style and needs. via @thefashionjogger #technology #fashion #shoes #apparel #design

The GOAT's Wisdom: Embrace the Pain, Find Your Success! ๐Ÿ”ฅ๐Ÿง ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™‚๏ธ When your legs start to feel like sh*t in a workout, or any tough situation, remember what the GOAT, Eliud Kipchoge, once said: "If you feel that pain, please keep that pain. If you feel the pain, then feel it. The more you actually move with the pain, that's where your success is." This isn't just advice for marathon runners; it's a profound truth for anyone pushing their limits, whether in a Spartan Race or facing life's daily challenges. It challenges the instinct to shy away from discomfort and instead, urges us to lean into it. Pain is not always a sign to stop; often, it's a signal of growth, a boundary to be pushed, a threshold to cross. Eliud Kipchoge, arguably the greatest marathoner of all time, has mastered the art of mental fortitude. He understands that success isn't found in avoiding the hard moments, but in consciously choosing to move through them. At Plant Parenting 360, this resonates with our core philosophy of resilience and cultivating inner strength. We know that physical and mental growth often occurs precisely when we are most uncomfortable. This is about building the discipline to keep moving, not just in your runs, but in every area of life where you seek to achieve something meaningful. What challenge are you facing where you need to hear this message? How will you choose to move with the pain and find your success? Share your commitment below! ๐Ÿ‘‡ ๐Ÿ‘‰ Ready to apply the GOAT's mindset to your fitness and life goals? Research shows sprinting helps enhance muscular efficiency and fatigue resistance. Additionally, it will help increase your running economy by improving your running mechanics. I talk about this alot, because it is important. It is often tauted that most people over the age of 30 will never sprint again. ! In my opinion, this speed translates in to better running economy even for marathon runners If you donโ€™t already sprint, I recommend adding 6x10 secs strides to your weekly running. You can put them in the middle of an easy run. They only last 10 secs They wonโ€™t fatigue you, so long as you take over 1 minute to recover between efforts NB: I often get asked the difference between sprinting and strides. They are very similar and often used to mean the same thing. However, technically sprints are at max speed while strides are just a little bit slower and more controlled than an all out effort. Why is nobody talking about this! โ†‘ Follow for more race tips - and save this tip to help you nail your hydration on race day ๐Ÿค๐Ÿผ๐Ÿ‘Ÿโšก๏ธ Proper hydration is essential for half marathon and marathon runners to maintain peak performance and avoid health risks. Research indicates that dehydration, defined as a loss of 2% of body weight, can significantly impair physical and cognitive functions. This level of dehydration can lead to increased fatigue, reduced endurance, and a higher perception of effort ๐Ÿฅต Ensure you are well hydrated before the race (this should start days before the race), then consume fluids at regular intervals during the event, and replenish lost fluids post-race๐Ÿšฐ Including electrolytes in your hydration plan can also help maintain the bodyโ€™s electrolyte balance, supporting nerve and muscle function (potentially keeping your heart rate lower and reducing the risk of cramping) ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ Adequate hydration helps to maintain optimal endurance and performance and also ensures a safer, more enjoyable race experience. Try out this race day tip to stay better hydrated and make the most of your race day ๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผ and no gatekeeping here - share this tip with your fellow runners and start hydrating smarter ๐Ÿ‘Ÿ๐Ÿ’ง๐Ÿ™Œ๐Ÿผโšก๏ธ #running #runtok #racing #racingtips #racingnutrition #raceday #runner #runnernutrtition #goldcoasthalfmarathon #goldcoastmarathon #marathon #halfmarathon #racedayessential #runningtips #runningworkout #runner #run #runningmotivation #trainingplan #racetips

If your shin, knee, or lower leg pain fades once you warm up โ€” but is worse the next morning โ€” thatโ€™s a red flag. This pattern often indicates early-stage load overload. Common in marathon runners increasing mileage too quickly. Whatโ€™s happening: ๐Ÿ‘‰ Blood flow masks pain mid-run ๐Ÿ‘‰ Tissue stress accumulates ๐Ÿ‘‰ Inflammation rises overnight ๐Ÿ‘‰ Morning stiffness increases This is how shin splints and overuse injuries start. To fix it: ๐Ÿ‘‰ Reduce mileage slightly for 1โ€“2 weeks ๐Ÿ‘‰ Avoid adding speed + distance together ๐Ÿ‘‰ Add calf strength + tibialis work ๐Ÿ‘‰ Respect recovery days Endurance durability is built slowly. Donโ€™t ignore early warning signs. Comment โ€œSHINโ€ if this pattern sounds familiar. #runninginjury #marathontraining #shinpain #weeklymileage #ultrarunning

Landing in front of the body does not mean you are overstriding. You will see this from ALL runners, including world class sprinters and marathon runners. ...with the special exception of accelerating. Yet, there are certain coaches that will look at a runner's footage and say that the foot has to land under the hips. If the runner is not... he/she is overstriding ๐Ÿคฆโ€โ™‚๏ธ People get so focused on where the foot initially makes contact, but there is not even much force going through the foot anyway. I will show you a great visual demonstration from TCUโ€™s locomotor lab to highlight what I am talking about. When Usain Boltโ€™s foot makes contact, you can see that the foot still lands in front of the body. However, there is really not much force being applied into the ground. After foot contact, we move through the loading phase. You can see that as the foot moves under the hips, the forces increase and peak right around where the foot is basically under the body. Now, let me clarify something here... โ€œTrying to land under your center of massโ€ can be a useful cue for certain runners to help them land closer to the body and find a more efficient stride. However, people need to DIFFERENTIATE between a cue and a movement pattern. EXPECTING runners to actually land under the center of mass is an ISSUE because unless you are accelerating, it is simply NOT possible. So donโ€™t set UNREALISTIC expectations. - I hope you found this post helpful. I would love to hear your thoughts in the comment section below.
