We’ve lost connection to our food source and our kitchens. It’s time to reconnect with this lost art — not only for family, but for future generations to come. I make so many things at home, rather than buying them, because they’re so much healthier for us when made in our own kitchen. Take bread, for example. Bread is just a few ingredients — flour, salt, and water. However, if you buy bread in the store, it’s got so many awful ingredients that actually harm our health. We wonder why so many people have gluten allergies. Hey, maybe it’s not the gluten, perhaps it’s all the fillers, preservatives, and additives that the manufacturing plants add to the wheat to make “bread”. Or, maybe it’s the glyphosate that was sprayed on the wheat by the monoculture industrial farming facility. But, it’s not just the bread that’s loaded with *&!@. It’s basically everything else too 😕 In the case of broth, when you make it yourself, you don’t have to spend any money! You’re using the extras that people normally throw out. AND, when you make it yourself, it’s so much more nourishing and nutrient dense than the watered down versions found in the store. Lastly, flour is a product that’s just so much more nutrient dense and healthful when you mill it yourself, right when you need it! In the stores, the flour is stripped of its bran and germ, leaving a starchy product behind that’s shelf stable and hard on our guts. Flour should contain the whole grain, not solely the endosperm — in the case of white all-purpose flour and most all wheat flours too. What do you make at home that you used to buy at the store? 👩‍🍳
