โœจSPECIALIZED VARIETYโœจ itโ€™s like same sameโ€ฆ but different. Specialized variety is a great way to continue to make progress in your lifts. Letโ€™s take the Turkish Get-Up for example. If you do the same Turkish get up EMOM x 10 min your body will gain strength and stability to adapt to the newly applied stress to the system. But eventually you will start to plateau. This is where waiving the load and specialized variety come into play. Waiving the load means adjusting the weight, sets, reps, rest period. Specialized variety means maybe this time you do a bottoms up Turkish Get-up? Or add a press into different points of the movement? Or change the implement and use a Barbell instead? This same same but different approach forces your body to gain more strength and stability to adapt to the ever chaotic environment itโ€™s training in.
