๐Ÿ’ซ How I Stay Emotionally Grounded (Even on Tough Days) I found out recently that I have another little health concern to keep an eye on - a cyst in the middle of my brain. I'll have it rchecked in 6 months, nothing to be worried about for now. I discovered it when I did a full body MRI with @scandotcom_uk , who offered me the scan, as research for my new book Hack Yourself Healthy. I'm exploring loads of new tests, scans, blood biopsies & experimenting on myself, to learn more about personalised medicine & how to improve healthspan. ๐Ÿ‘€ Would you? I posted about this yesterday & lots of kind folks wished me well; others said yes, they like to do something similar if finances /circumstances allowed, and then so many people just seemingly angry people that these scans are out there, but not everyone can afford them. I believe these technologies are going to become more & more widely available & accessible, quite quickly. In the meantime those that can afford to do them drive the development for future use. Anyway it's been a bit rough on here so I thought I'd share these emotional health building tips from the brilliant psychotherapist & best selling author @annamathur, who's contributed to my new book ๐Ÿ“š ๐Ÿ–Š๏ธ Journalling: write down your feelings as a way of externally processing and releasing stress and emotions. ๐Ÿ™‚ Join & gratitude: think about something you're grateful for in this moment, or take a couple of minutes writing gratitude list. Even if you only recall tiny things, it's a powerful way to shift your focus from the negative to the positive. It's not a denial of tough things happening, but the recognition that good and beautiful things are also happening. ๐Ÿง  Reshape your critical inner dialogue: If your internal dialogue is critical or bullying, it will directly impact your anxiety and stress levels. Introduce yourself to a kind and more compassionate voice when you begin to replace criticism with kindness, you nurture a healthier, more supportive relationship with yourself & this helps to navigate stress.
