❗️OVERRATED back exercise - DB ROWS! . ❗️I personally prefer a chest supported row for the additional stability rather than a db row. . ❗️This exercise is done incorrectly by a lot of people, they are trying to start a lawnmower or something, I will explain how to set it up properly if you want to do it, and then explain my alternatives. . ❗️The set up is very important, and a lot of people don’t get the full range of motion for these rows by allowing their shoulder blades to fully protract and get the deep searing stretch (this is what research is suggesting is our biggest opportunity for stimulus for muscle growth). . 👉Next you would want to initiate the movement by retracting your shoulder blades and pulling the DB to your hips, not straight up. You also want to consider when lowering the weight and lengthening the lats, we want the arm yo go infront, not straight down. . 👀 Watch as I demonstrate and show you how to execute this exercise correctly. . 🙏If this was helpful, share with a friend who’s been struggling or would benefit from it! When your palms face away for a “reverse grip”, you’ll recruit your biceps to help with the lift - allowing you to lift more weight! So make sure you go HEAVIER than you normally would if you want to get the most out of this exercise! When you set up, you don’t want your lower back to round, so make sure you keep your feet close and think “butt back” with a slight knee bend to hinge you over safely! Lastly, try to think “elbows back” when you lift the weights up! Simply “pulling up” with your hands isn’t going to recruit your muscles optimally for this style of row. Go heavy, hinge properly, and think “elbows back” and you’re gonna rock this one! Now, do it!
