The belt isn’t creating stability. It’s hiding your instability. 📉 We rely too much on gear to do the job our core should be doing naturally. Today’s session: No sleeves. No belt. Just raw internal pressure. If you feel your lower back taking over the moment you hit the hole, you aren’t bracing—you are just sucking your stomach in. The 3-Step Bracing Fix (Save this): 📌 1. Breathe “Down,” Not “Up” ⬇️ Don’t let your shoulders rise when you inhale. Visualize sending the air straight down to your pelvis. Your chest should stay still; your stomach should expand. 2. The “Side Poke” Test 👈 This is the game changer. Dig your thumbs into your obliques (your sides, above the hip bone). Now, use your breath to push your thumbs away. Most people only push their belly forward. True stability is 360-degree expansion. 3. The “Rib Clamp” 🛡️ Once you have the air, pull your ribcage DOWN like you’re doing a crunch. Lock that pressure in. Imagine you are about to take a punch to the gut. If you can’t squat it raw, the belt owns the weight. Not you. 🛡️ Drop a 🔥 if you are training raw this week. . . . #squatdepth #legday #viral #gymmotivation #squat

Core first. Load second. Before heavy deadlifts I always run a quick activation sequence: ✔ Ab rollouts ✔ Hanging leg raises ✔ Copenhagen plank ✔ V-leg pulls Why? Because a switched-on core gives you: ✅ better bracing ✅ stronger pulls ✅ safer spine ✅ more power through hips Most people warm up their muscles. I warm up my SYSTEM. Save this for your next pull day 💪

Want to lift heavy? Best know how to brace the core. A valuable yet often overlooked tip for new exercisers is learning how to “brace” during any exercise. Bracing involves engaging your core muscles to stabilize the spine, which is crucial for preventing lower back injuries common among beginners due to insufficient core engagement. Here’s a simple cue I share with my clients to help with bracing: “Imagine trying to bring your sternum and belly button closer together.” This action creates necessary stiffness in your core, not only protecting your body as you lift but also enabling you to lift more effectively and build strength. Prioritizing proper bracing can make a significant difference in your exercise performance and safety. #strengthandconditioning #strengthandconditioningcoach #personaltrainer #strongcorestrongback #bracebeforeyoulift

Your core is basically the centre of your body, and its main job is to keep your trunk stable while your arms and legs are moving during everyday and sporting movements. A strong core helps protect your spine from taking too much load and allows force to transfer smoothly between your lower body and upper body (and the other way around). When your core is strong and stable, you move more efficiently, reduce your risk of injury, and perform better overall — whether that’s in the gym, on the field, or just getting through daily life. Quick tips for bracing your core: Avoid ducking your belly button in or just puffing your belly out - it’s about creating the tension Try to keep breathing normally while you brace — you should be able to talk while holding that tension. Brace before you move (like before lifting, pushing, or changing direction) and keep that tension as you move. If you want some more tips like this to actually help you progress with your movement’s , just let me know 😉
