The coracoid process of the scapula serves as an attachment site for three muscles: Coracobrachialis – Originates from the coracoid process and inserts on the humerus, assisting in flexion and adduction of the shoulder. Biceps Brachii (Short Head) – Originates from the coracoid process and contributes to elbow flexion and forearm supination. Pectoralis Minor – Inserts onto the coracoid process and helps in scapular protraction and downward rotation. These muscles play a role in stabilising the scapula and facilitating upper limb movement. #osteopathy #anatomy #shoulderpaintreatment #manualtherapy #osteopathytreatment

The coracobrachialis is a muscle in the upper arm that assists with shoulder flexion and adduction. It originates from the coracoid process of the scapula and inserts onto the medial surface of the humerus. The muscle is innervated by the musculocutaneous nerve (C5-C7) and primarily functions to move the arm towards the body (adduction) and to flex the shoulder joint, helping lift the arm forward. It is a relatively small but important muscle for shoulder stability and arm movement. 💥 Is This Muscle the Source of Your Shoulder Pain? 💥 If you’re dealing with impingement, poor posture, or constant trap tightness… You might be missing one key culprit: the pectoralis minor 👇 This small muscle sits under the chest and attaches to the shoulder blade at the coracoid process. When it gets overactive, it pulls the scapula into anterior tilt—rolling the shoulder forward. That leads to impingement, poor scapular control, and irritation with overhead movements. 🛠️ Here’s how we fix it: 🧱 Wall Angels – Stretch the chest while activating scapular stabilizers to reverse forward tilt 🔧 Banded I’s – Wake up the lower traps and build shoulder blade control without shrugging ♾️ Infinity Hovers – Mobilize the scapula through full range and train fine control + positioning 🎯 Don’t just stretch what feels tight. Train the muscles that fight anterior tilt—and your shoulder finally moves (and feels) right again. 👉 DM the word “pain” and I'll send you a free shoulder pain fix demo with my team! #shoulderpain #pecminor #shoulderimpingement #fixshoulderpain #comebackperformance #shoulderrehab #scapularcontrol #posturefix #traprelief #shouldermobility

Working the coracobrachialis — a deep anterior shoulder muscle. It originates from the coracoid process of the scapula and inserts into the medial humerus. Its job is shoulder flexion, adduction, and stabilization of the humeral head. I shorten it by bringing the arm into slight flexion and adduction to find the tissue, then I slowly abduct and lightly externally rotate the arm while maintaining pressure up toward the coracoid process to lengthen and release the muscle. #shoulderpain #bodywork #sportsmassage #mobility #fyp

I bet you don’t know this muscle! But did you know? 👀 👉The coracobrachialis is a long and slender muscle of the anterior compartment of the arm. As its name suggests, it extends from the coracoid process of scapula to the shaft of the humerus. 👉The main function of the coracobrachialis muscle is to produce flexion and adduction of the arm at the shoulder joint. Along with the other flexors of the arm (biceps brachii and brachialis muscles), coracobrachialis is innervated by the musculocutaneous nerve. 👉The coracobrachialis muscle lies posterior to the pectoralis major muscle and anterior to the tendons of subscapularis, latissimus dorsi, teres major and the medial head of triceps. The muscle is located medial to the biceps brachii and brachialis muscles. The humeral insertion of coracobrachialis is crossed anteriorly by the median nerve. Along with the humerus, coracobrachialis forms the lateral border of the axilla, where it is also the easiest to palpate the muscle. #learnoninsta #anatomy #didyouknow #shoulderpain #nerves #muscles #lifting #weightlifting #muscle #physio #physiostudent #chirostudent #kinstudent #medstudent #chiro #physiotherapist #osteo #osteopathy #massage #massagetherapy #chiropractor #learnsomethingnew

☢️📚 Segue @guerreirosdaradiologia ☢️📚 #tomografia #radiologia #radiologiaporamor

🔺The pec minor is a key driver in upper crossed syndrome due to the anatomy. Pec minor Originates on the coracoid process of the scapula and inserts on the third, fourth and fifth ribs very close to coastal cartilage. . 🔺So when is muscle shortens he has the propensity to pull the scapular forward and down pulling the upper back into a kyphotic type shape. . 🔺Tightness and triggerpoints can entrap the axillary artery and the brachial plexus therefore frequently mimicking cervical radiculopathy. . 🔺Did you know the pec minor is an additional respiratory muscle? . 🔺If you find dysfunction in the pec minor I would strongly suggest checking pec major, scalenes, long head of biceps levator scapula and upper trap as These muscles form a functional unit What:📚Flow Stretch 16 CEs Where: 🌎 Rise Fitness Studio 9 School Street Merrimac, MA  When:  ⏰ March 8-9 2025 What: 📚 Flow Stretch 16 CEs

A Grade 3 acromioclavicular (AC) joint subluxation (more commonly described as a Grade 3 AC joint separation) is a shoulder injury where the clavicle (collarbone) and acromion (part of the scapula) lose alignment due to torn ligaments. Here’s the breakdown: Anatomy & Mechanism. The AC joint connects the clavicle to the acromion at the top of the shoulder. It’s stabilized by: AC ligaments (holding clavicle to acromion). Coracoclavicular (CC) ligaments (conoid + trapezoid, anchoring clavicle to coracoid process). A Grade 3 injury usually happens after a fall onto the shoulder or direct blow in contact sports (me). What Grade 3 Means Both AC and CC ligaments are completely torn. The clavicle is displaced upwards, but not through the skin (that would be Grade 5 or 6). The joint is unstable and visibly deformed (“step deformity” at the shoulder tip). Often called a complete dislocation of the AC joint. Symptoms Significant pain and swelling at the shoulder tip. Obvious bump/deformity at the end of the clavicle. Reduced range of motion, especially overhead or across the body. Weakness in pushing, lifting, or throwing. Management Non-surgical (most common): Sling for 1–3 weeks for comfort, gradual return to movement. Physiotherapy to restore range, strength (especially rotator cuff and scapular stabilizers). Many athletes return to full function without surgery. Surgical: Considered if high-level athlete (overhead/contact sports), heavy manual worker, or persistent instability/pain. Surgery involves reconstructing or fixing CC ligaments, sometimes with a plate or graft. Prognosis Return to normal daily activity: usually 6–12 weeks. Athletes often return to play in ~8–12 weeks if managed well. Cosmetic “bump” on the shoulder usually remains. Long-term: most function normally, but small risk of ongoing pain or arthritis at the AC joint. #acjointseparation #sublaxation #shoulderinjury #shoulderrehab

Sometimes it’s the muscles you didn’t know you had 😌 This muscle originates from the coracoid process of the scap (at the font of the shoulder under the collar bone) and inserts on the inner arm. ‼️ If we lose scap position in the bench, this muscle can get strained: • trying to bring back in flared elbows (adduction) • touching too low on our chest and correcting by over-pressing over the face (increase shoulder flexion) ✅ Here’s a simple stretch and strengthen option to get the shoulder feeling good again! . Not sure why your bench feels like hot garbage? Shoot me a message and LETS CHAT 🤝 . @kodiakbarbell

The CHL arises from the lateral side of the coracoid process, crossing over the LHB and then dividing into medial and lateral bands. Each band further divides into superficial and deep layers which envelop the supraspinatus and subscapularis tendons, with each deep layer inserting into the greater and lesser tuberosities respectively. #ultrasound #sonography #radiology #shoulder
