I used to avoid adding weight because I thought it would make my waist bulky… but it actually helped me build definition and tighten up my core. Your core is so much more than just your abs. It’s a system - your diaphragm, transverse abdominals (TVA), and pelvic floor all working together to support your body. This is true whether you’re postpartum, in your 20s, 40s, or beyond — learning how to connect to your deep core matters at every stage. Here’s what I want you thinking about: On the inhale: let your ribs expand fully (front, sides, and back). No gripping through your core. This allows your pelvic floor to naturally lengthen. On the exhale: gently activate your deep core. Think of your TVA wrapping in like a corset, drawing in from your hip bones toward your center, while your rib cage softly knits together. At the same time, your pelvic floor lifts and supports from underneath. When your breath and deep core are working together, your body can manage pressure more effectively and that’s when you actually start to feel strong from the inside out. Ma questo non significa che devi convivere con una pancia sempre gonfia.
