👉 The engine is the heart of the car, and it's made of several key components that work together to generate power and keep your vehicle moving. Here's a simple breakdown of the main engine parts and what they do, based on the image above:
🔹 Rocker Cover
This metal lid covers the top of the engine (camshaft and valves) and keeps oil from leaking out. It helps maintain oil pressure and protect internal parts.
🔹 Camshaft
The camshaft controls the opening and closing of the engine’s valves. It ensures that the intake and exhaust valves open at the right time for efficient combustion.
🔹 Cylinder Head
Mounted on top of the cylinder block, this part houses the camshaft, valves, and spark plugs. It seals the top of the engine cylinders and plays a crucial role in combustion.
🔹 Valves
These allow the air-fuel mixture in and exhaust gases out. Intake valves let in the air-fuel mix; exhaust valves release burned gases.
🔹 Cylinders
These are the combustion chambers where the fuel-air mix burns to create power. The number of cylinders affects the engine’s power and efficiency.
