How do you train a leg curl at home? 🏠 The setup: a resistance band is tied around something anchored like a pole, a heavy sofa, a table leg (anything you can use) and lay down with a pillow, or a rolled up yoga mat, underneath your hips. This puts your lower body in a better position. The execution: adjust your distance from the anchor, so that the resistance isn’t too hard, or too easy, when you do the leg curl. Put your feet inside the band and then loop your toes over the band to lock it in place. Rocket up quick by trying to hit your heels on your butt and then lower your feet slowly down to the floor. The band will try very hard to pull your heels back to the floor, so control the eccentric in order to get the most out of each rep. The negatives: the downfall of this exercise is that it is harder at the top of the rep when you’re squeezing your hamstrings, and not the bottom position (when the leg is straighter) like the seated leg curl machine is BUT this is a SOLID at home variation to train the hamstrings which are hard to train at home! Increase the thickness of the band as you get stronger!
