The psoas is a deep hip flexor that connects your spine to your femur. When it’s irritated or overworked it can contribute to: • Low back discomfort • Hip tightness • Front-of-hip pinching • Postural strain This release technique can help reduce tone and improve comfort, but remember, release is just one piece. Strength and control are the real game changers! ✅Save this to try later!! #hip #back #physiotherapy #health #education

The psoas and the diaphragm are directly connected through deep fascia at T12–L1. When the psoas stays tight, it pulls on the lumbar spine and locks up the diaphragm. That’s why chronic hip and low-back pain often comes with shallow breathing. Releasing the psoas doesn’t just free the hip — it reduces lumbar tension, improves spinal mechanics, and allows the diaphragm to move the way it’s designed to. Less guarding. Better breath. Better movement. Low back pain, hip pain, and breathing issues are rarely separate problems — they’re part of the same system. #FYP #massage #lowbackpain #hippain #bodywork

Most people think a tight psoas is caused by bad posture, weak core muscles, or sitting too much. But the truth is deeper — because the psoas is not just a muscle. It’s a survival organ.   Your psoas connects your spine to your legs, but it also connects your nervous system to your emotional history. In psychoneuroimmunology (PNI), we see that when the body is overwhelmed with fear, hypervigilance, shame, or chronic stress, the psoas becomes a storage site for unprocessed emotional energy.   Why? Because the psoas contracts instantly during danger. It curls you forward. It protects your organs. It prepares you to run. And when life doesn’t give you a chance to release that activation — the contraction becomes chronic.   This is why people with long-term stress, trauma, anxiety, or “always-on” lifestyles often feel: • low-back tension • pelvic misalignment • digestive sluggishness • shallow breathing • leg heaviness • or a constant sense of emotional load   Your psoas is doing exactly what it was designed to do — keep you alive. But here’s what almost no one understands:   A muscle cannot release what the body has no energy to process. And you cannot process emotional energy if your drainage pathways are blocked.   Your lungs, kidneys, colon, skin, and nervous system are your biological exits. If they’re congested, the emotional load stays inside — and the psoas keeps gripping to protect you.   This is why stretching, massage, or mobility work may help temporarily… then the tightness returns.   If you want to release psoas tension at its root, you must support your drainage organs first.   Comment DRAIN and I’ll send the link to learn how to open your drains and finally release what your body has been holding.   #biologicalmedicine #somatichealing #psoasrelease #nervoussystemhealth #emotionalhealing #mindbodyconnection 🎥 @ voka.io @ muscleandmotion

💥 STOP Stretching Your Sciatica! ❌ If you have sciatica, then you probably have that tight burning down the back of your leg But the problem is not in your leg, it stems from the low back! So the biggest mistake you can make is continually stretching the leg, hoping it gets better Because a sensitive nerve does not want to be stretched, and this can prevent you from healing! So how do you fix this without stretching with the pain is? 🔑 The key here is to address sciatica at the root, which is in the low back! The first exercise helps stretch and strengthen the piriformis muscle to reduce irritation around the nerve The second one takes pressure off of your disc and nerve to calm down the symptoms in the leg And the last one helps directly reverse the herniation and restore your mobility to take pressure off the nerve at the source These will help you reduce your pain fast, but as always, you need a long-term plan! ✅ Want to learn how to fix your back for life? Back pain from sitting too much can make your workouts and PT exercises trickier. this release will reset you. Place a pillow or block under your hips and hug your knees into your chest until your lower back is rounded. Keep one knee tightly pulled into your chest and keep your back rounded when you place the other leg down with a bent knee. Keep your leg straight (not turned out) and heel toe your foot away from your hip. You’ve gone too far if your back does not stay rounded or if your knee in your chest moves away from your body. You can straighten your leg out more if you feel release. Work slow. Stay a while. Repeat on other side. #yoga #psoas #release #movement #backpain

When our Psoas muscle is tight, it can be sooo uncomfortable! Symptoms of this can show up as lower back and hip pain, discomfort when standing or walking. Pain when lifting your leg or doing core exercises like leg lifts. This discomfort can radiate into our hips and down the leg. Ugh, y’all, it’s so rude. This shows up for lots of reasons. For me, it’s related to my hypermobile hips. My psoas (along with other muscles) get tight and “guard” the area. It can also come from injury or lack of full range of motion in the area. Stretching doesn’t usually cut it when this muscle decides to lock down on us, so a release like this can help so much! You’ll want a large-ish ball for this because the psoas sits deep and attaches to the spine! That’s a lot of distance to cover. Please be gentle with yourself. This is a highly sensitive area with organs, nerves and arteries in the neighborhood. So, an inflatable or foam ball can be a great place to start. Otherwise please begin on a soft surface. Only sink in as far as you can without pain, numbness or tingling. Feeling good in our body is all about balance and connection. A release isn’t the only piece of the puzzle but it can be a great resource! Training mobility, strength and integration is what gets us there. If you’re ready for a better connection to your hips check out the Hip Foundations Plan 👉🏼Choose My Plan link in my bio for more info. They make specific tools for this release but I love therapy balls. For me, they work well and I can travel easily with them! Do you suffer from sciatica or piriformis syndrome? 😣🍑 Have you tried everything—stretching 🧘‍♂️, Chiropractors 👐, massage 💆, acupuncture 🌿—but nothing seems to last? 😩 That’s because they’re not removing adhesion! 🌀 Adhesion is the most common cause of chronic pain in our office—9 out of 10 patients have it and have never heard of it before 🤯 Here, we use shockwave therapy ⚡ to break down any adhesion gunked up along the sciatic nerve 🦵💥 This allows the nerve to glide smoothly through the muscles, pain-free and sticky-free 🙌✨ Comment “pain” if you’re tired of suffering 😤💔 and we’ll get you on your way to a pain-free life 🌟💪 #sciatica #sciaticarelief #sciaticapain #sciaticatreatment
