No problem! 😉⁣ ⁣ Every time I put out a question about the exercises you’re struggling with most at home, one of the most common responses is about lat pull downs/ vertical pulling movements.⁣ ⁣ While it might take a little more creativity to replicate these movements without a gym, it’s certainly not impossible! ⁣ ⁣ And we certainly don’t want to be neglecting any of our pulling/ back exercises right now- especially since most of us have been sitting on our couches and hunched over desks a little more this year. ⁣ ⁣ Let’s look at a few different options you can try:⁣ ⁣ 🔹banded pull down (option 1)- this is a good option if you’re working out in a space without a high anchor point (ie outdoors). All you need is a band! Key here is using your opposing arms as a stabilizer, so you want to create constant tension it keep it as stead as possible.⁣ ⁣ 🔹banded pull down (option 2)- this is ideal if you have a high anchor point available! Think: door frame, pull up bar, etc. Try these both bilaterally and unilaterally!⁣ ⁣ 🔹body slides- no bands? No equipment? Yea, it looks pretty silly, but these honestly work really well. All you need is a floor and some kind of towel! With my focus on form & failure over recent months, this back-specific routine highlights some of the variations I've been using within my workouts. Performed at my studio gym, I may not be able to match the full range of equipment available in most commercial gyms, but with a few adjustments I can really make use of the machines I do have. All sets performed as single-sets of 4 with a rep range up to 15 (I'm currently enjoying volume training, keeping the muscles pumped without as much strain at the joints). If I comfortably reach 15, I'll increase the weight for the next set by 5-15%. Otherwise, I'll maintain the same weight and allow for failure to be reached sooner.
