So what exactly are the benefits of red light therapy? (also called photobiomodulation) Let’s start here… every single cell in your body has something called a mitochondria (aka “the powerhouse of the cell”). You can think of it like a tiny battery inside each cell that produces energy. That energy is what powers everything your body does. Healing tissue. Lowering inflammation. Repairing damage. Even slowing down visible aging. But just like any battery, mitochondria can become weaker over time from stress, poor diet, lack of exercise, toxin exposure, etc. 🪫 Red light therapy works by delivering specific wavelengths of light that the mitochondria can absorb. When they absorb that light, it helps them produce more cellular energy! So it’s kind of like recharging your phone when it has low battery. Then, when your cells have more energy, they can repair themselves better, function better, and recover faster 🔋 It’s important to know that not all red light therapy devices are the same. The wavelengths matter, so you want ones in the clinically studied ranges like 630–660 nm and 810–880 nm, because a lot of products on the market are unfortunately very weak.
