The V squat machine targets the glutes as well as the quads. The V squat’s widened stance and foot placement back a bit lessens the load borne by the quads, distributing weight more evenly throughout the leg muscles than a standard hack squat. However there can be two ways for more glute bias and quads For Glutes be sure to keep your core tight and your body in reverse head position facing back pad. Place feet back and Push hips back in a hip hinge pattern and bend at the knees but stop lowering when your hip reaches its maximum flexion. When you’re at the bottom of the lift, once again drive your heels into the ground and push your hips up. For more Quad bias you can simply alter your reverse hack squat foot position if need be and stand slightly forward more, to allow more upright torso. This will cause more knee flexion for greater quadricep activation. Be sure to create full depth If you want to squat but have limited core strength or want to minimize stress on the lower back, the V squat is definitely effective and a great way of isolating and building muscles of the lower body.
