Commercial seed oil extraction begins with hexane solvent processing at approximately 60 to 70 degrees Celsius to separate crude oil from soybean, rapeseed, sunflower, cottonseed, and corn germ feedstock at facilities operated by Archer Daniels Midland of Decatur, Illinois, Bunge Limited of Chesterfield, Missouri, Cargill of Minnetonka, Minnesota, and Wilmar International of Singapore. Crude oil undergoes degumming with phosphoric acid, neutralization with sodium hydroxide, bleaching with activated Fuller’s earth clay, and steam deodorization at approximately 240 to 270 degrees Celsius to remove color, odor, and free fatty acids across approximately 1,000 processing facilities worldwide. Traditional butter production by mechanical cream separation and physical agitation has been documented across the Swiss Alps, Normandy, the Scottish Highlands, the Indian subcontinent, and the Ethiopian Highlands for approximately 4,000 years according to ethnographic fieldwork conducted at the University of Oxford in England. Cooking oil starts with seeds like soybeans, canola, sunflower, or corn. The process begins by cleaning and crushing the seeds to release their natural oils. The crushed material is either mechanically pressed or treated with a food-grade solvent to extract as much oil as possible. The crude oil is then refined — removing impurities, odors, and unwanted compounds through steps like degumming, neutralizing, bleaching, and deodorizing. After refining, the oil is filtered, tested for quality, and bottled for distribution. From tiny seeds to the clear liquid in your kitchen, cooking oil is the result of large-scale agricultural processing and precise food engineering. #HowItsMade #FoodProduction #CookingOil #Manufacturing #FoodScience

🚫 No to seed oils…👇 🧪 They’re made by taking high-linoleic crops like soy, corn, canola, sunflower, and safflower, grinding them, chemically extracting the oil with solvents, then bleaching and deodorizing it so it’s even edible. ⏳ That process alone should tell you these oils did not exist for most of human history. ⚠️ The main issue isn’t “calories” or even total fat. 🔥 It’s linoleic acid. 🧬 Linoleic acid is a polyunsaturated omega-6 fat. 🌱 In small, seasonal amounts from whole foods, the human body can handle it. 📈 The problem is dose and form. 🚀 Modern diets didn’t just increase linoleic acid slightly, they multiplied intake by several hundred percent in a matter of decades. 🧯 Unlike saturated or monounsaturated fats, linoleic acid is unstable. ☀️ It oxidizes easily, especially when exposed to heat, light, and oxygen, all things involved in processing, storage, and cooking. 🧠 Those oxidation products don’t just disappear. ⚡ They interact with cell membranes, mitochondria, and inflammatory pathways. 🕰️ What most people don’t realize is that linoleic acid doesn’t get burned off quickly. 🧊 It gets stored in your body fat, where it can remain for years. 🔁 That means your metabolic environment today is influenced by what you were eating years ago, not just yesterday. ❓ This explains why the damage is slow and confusing. 🤒 You don’t eat seed oils and feel sick tomorrow. 📉 Instead, over time, you see disrupted energy production, impaired fat metabolism, increased inflammation, and a higher susceptibility to chronic disease. 🗺️ It also explains the timeline. ❤️ Heart disease, obesity, diabetes, and inflammatory conditions didn’t explode the moment seed oils entered the food supply. 📦 They rose gradually, then predictably, as these oils became unavoidable in restaurants. 🔄 Seed oils didn’t replace traditional fats because they were better for humans. 🏢 They replaced them because they were better for industry. 💡 Want to find free seed oil free restaurants in your area? 📲 Comment “SOS” and we’ll send you access to our app.

🛢️ Seed Oils: The Slow Drip Poison in Your Pantry Marketed as “heart-healthy.” Backed by weak science. Pushed by billion-dollar food lobbies. 🧪 These oils (canola, soybean, corn, etc.) are industrial byproducts. They’re heated, bleached, deodorized, and chemically extracted. They’re treated with hexane, a known neurotoxin And you’re cooking with them like they’re olive oil. 🔥 They oxidize under heat. 🧬 They wreck your omega-6 to omega-3 balance. 🫀 They fuel chronic inflammation, which is the root of most modern disease. Meanwhile, your grandma cooked in butter, lard, and extra virgin olive oil, and didn’t need a statin. 💡 You’re not broken. Your food system is. Ditch the industrial sludge. Cook with real fats: 1) Extra Virgin Olive Oil (@oliva.dorado) 2) Grass Fed Butter and Ghee 3) Coconut Oil 4) Tallow

Seed oil lovers drive me insane. How can you promote oils that are: refined bleached deodorized and industrially processed AND have only been common in our food supply for about a century when humans relied on natural animal fats for thousands of years? Do we really believe industrial chemistry understands the human body better than the biology that built it?

In Sinja, Jumla, organic homemade oil extraction from weed seeds follows a traditional cold-pressing method that preserves nutrients and purity. The process begins with seed collection and sun-drying to reduce moisture. Some seeds are lightly roasted to enhance oil yield and flavor. Next, the dried seeds are ground using a stone grinder and release oil. Once extracted, the oil is filtered through a fine cloth to remove impurities and stored in glass or clay containers to maintain its quality. This method, deeply rooted in local tradition, ensures a pure and natural product. This method highlights an organic, sustainable approach to oil production, preserving the purity and nutritional value of the extracted oil. . 📸 Credit and follow: sapanaxettri075 / TT Follow @madeinnepal143 and @photogram143 for beautiful Nepali product or to promote your product ❤️ Don’t forget to tag Nepali product ❤️ . Stone ground sesame oil can be traced back to ancient civilizations in East Asia, particularly China. 🇨🇳 Video: @sharing_delicacy Stone ground sesame oil is a high-quality, traditional oil extracted from sesame seeds using a stone grinding process. Stone grinding was a common technique used in ancient China to extract oils from various seeds and nuts. The process involved using heavy stone mills to crush the seeds and extract the oil, preserving the natural flavors and nutrients. Stone ground sesame oil typically has a robust, nutty flavor and aroma that is more pronounced than oils extracted through modern methods. #seasameoil #tasteatlas

Ultra processed seed oils like canola, soybean, corn, and sunflower aren’t natural, they’re industrial products made in a way that should make anyone think twice about eating them. Here’s how they’re made: 1. Extraction: Seeds are crushed and treated with high heat, which damages the fats and causes oxidation. 2. Chemical Solvents: Hexane (a petroleum-based solvent) is used to extract every last drop of oil. 3. Deodorizing: The oil is heated again to over 500F to remove the rancid smell from oxidation. 4. Bleaching: Chemicals are added to make the oil clear and appealing. 5. Anti-Foaming Agents: More additives are included to make them usable for cooking and frying. The result? A highly unstable, oxidized oil loaded with harmful compounds like aldehydes and trans fats, things your body doesn’t recognize as food. These oils are inflammatory, toxic, and completely unsuitable for human consumption. They have no place in a healthy diet, and have been linked to obesity, heart disease, and chronic inflammation. Instead of these industrial oils, stick to natural, traditional fats like beef tallow, butter, and ghee. Your body knows how to handle real food. Follow @allfat.ca to learn more

HOW SEED OILS ARE MADE This is the way canola oil is manufactured. I don’t know about you guys, but I personally would NEVER want something like this entering my body. How is olive oil made? Squeeze an olive. No chemicals or bleaching required. Anyone that looks at some “scientific study” to justify eating this slop is divorced from their natural intuition. Additional reminder, this stuff was initially created as engine lubricant! I have coached many people who have seen major improvements in their health after cutting this slop out.
