Make sure to ask them what dose they recommend for your body and your chemistry specifically (this will be informed by for example your lab results or what other meds you’re taking or other medical conditions you have). Your doctor might even offer a discount program for patients who buy through their account (companies like fullscript and Thorne offer such programs for prescribers to pass wholesale savings along to their patients so it’s worth asking your prescriber). These are the most consistently studied options and have replicated evidence showing modest improvements in ADHD symptoms and overall impairment. That said, their effects are smaller than stimulant medications or behavioral therapy, so they’re best used as supportive add-ons.
