One of the biggest mistakes on the lying hamstring curl is setting the calf pad too high so that there’s no tension when your knees are nearly straightened. This is also the portion of the range of motion on the exercise exercise where the hamstrings will be the most stretched. Ideally you should lower the calf pad so that it is just outside your range of motion. Now this may seem a little bit scary but you’ll find that many times you can simply press your body up off the chest pad and “stand back up” to get off of the machine before you ever really hyperextend the knee. Just make sure you’re controlling the eccentric of course.

This is why your lying leg curls aren’t hitting your hamstrings like they should 👇🏼👇🏼 One of the most common mistakes I see on the lying leg curl is the hips shooting way up halfway through the rep. As soon as the weight gets challenging, people start lifting their hips off the pad to finish the curl. The reason this happens is simple. Your hamstrings cross both the knee and the hip. So when the load is too heavy or the rep isn’t controlled, your body tries to make the movement easier by bringing the hips into it. It’s basically your body looking for a shortcut (it’s smart like that! 😉) A small amount of movement isn’t the end of the world, but when the hips are popping way up, the hamstrings are no longer doing the job you think they are. You’ve shifted the mechanics and reduced the tension where you actually want it. Instead, think about bracing your core and keeping the pelvis stable against the pad. Control the lowering, keep the tension on the hamstrings, and let the curl come from the knee joint rather than the hips trying to help. Train the muscle, not the ego 💪🏽💪🏽 PS: If you train at home and don’t have this machine, I’ve got you. ⠀ ⠀ 🔽초보자가 하는 실수 3가지🔽 🔸라잉 레그 컬(Lying Leg Curl)🔸 ⠀ 1. 발목을 일자로 세우면?! 발목을 세우고(도르래 방향으로) 당기게 되면 햄스트링(대퇴이두근)보다 종아리 근육(비복근, 가자미근)의 개입이 많아져 자극이 분산됩니다. ✅ 발목을 약간 플렉(당김)한 상태에서 자연스럽게 다리를 접어서 운동을 진행해 준다. ⠀ 2. 무릎이 패드 위에 위치되어 있을 때? 상체의 세팅이 위로되어 무릎이 패드 위에 있는 경우 발목 패드가 종아리를 타고 들리는 경우가 있기 때문에 햄스트링(대퇴이두근)의 힘을 활용하기가 힘듭니다. ✅ 허벅지를 패드에 밀착시키고 무릎이 패드보다 아래로 세팅되게 해 주세요. ⠀ 3. 골반이 들리면?! 🚫다리를 당길 때 골반이 들리거나 허리가 과도하게 꺾이면 허리에 부담이 가면서 부상 위험 증가, 햄스트링(대퇴이두근)의 긴장도 감소됩니다. ✅코어에 힘을 주고 골반을 패드에 고정한 상태에서 천천히 컨트롤하여 진행해 주세요. #하체운동 #레그컬 #legcurl #legday #legs #운동영상 #헬린이
