Here are all the tips I can remember from my 3 C-sections that have helped me through these major surgeries. Pre-operation prep: - purchase and pack belly binder, a belly hot/cold band from Frida mom, and boy short brief disposable underwear from Frida mom as well - if you have other children, get help if you can for at least the first 3-4 weeks - throughout your last trimester prioritize deep core and pelvic floor exercises - walk as much as you can throughout your pregnancy - pack gum and stool softener - get a bassinet that comes up right next to your bed -get (or do your own) blow out if you can - it honestly made a difference in how I felt - have a GOOD meal 8 hours prior, you won’t eat for a good 16-20 hours Post operation (in the hospital): -chew gum in the recovery room to wake up your digestion to prevent excess gas - move SLOWLY as soon as they let you, this helps majorly in recovery -hydrate and use stool softeners to help ease the pain of the first 💩 and gas -move as much as you can for the gas pain, if you have gas build up you may experience shoulder tip pain. Rick sway and move to get it out Post operation (at home): - accept help as much as you can - now is not the time to be brave or push your limits. -REST! Stay in bed as much as you can for at least the first week. Get up to walk around your room at regular intervals to aid in healing -stay on top of your meds - set alarms if you need! -compression is your best friend for when getting up, moving around, coughing or sneezing. Press a pillow against your incision or use a belly band -use high waisted everything to avoid rubbing against the incision -eat nutrient rich meals and snacks -stay hydrated and block out all possible sources of negativity as you heal and bond with baby -journal your thoughts and feelings. This time can feel isolating so make sure you try to call or text one friend/family member per day -be proud of what you’ve accomplished you are no less a mother because of the way your baby came into the world. You are so strong ❤️‍🩹 C-section moms, is there any tips I missed? Feel free to ask questions #csectionrecovery #csectionmom #csection #cesareanbirth

Yes, C-sections are more common today — and there’s a reason for that. Earlier, many of these pregnancies didn’t exist or weren’t detected in time. Today, medicine sees more, detects more, and prioritises safety more. Why medical C-section rates are increasing now: • More IVF & assisted pregnancies → higher-risk cases, twins, placenta issues • Pregnancies at a later age + more BP, diabetes, thyroid problems • Advanced fetal monitoring → distress is caught early, lives are saved • More women with previous C-sections → scar uterus increases repeat CS • Lifestyle disorders on the rise → obesity, PCOS, gestational diabetes, BP • Increased placental complications → linked to uterine surgeries & ART • Modern obstetrics is safety-first → mother & baby over ego • Lower tolerance for risk today → outcomes matter more than “normal vs C-section” The truth: C-section is not failure. C-section is not weakness. C-section is not the easy way out. It’s a medical decision made because today we know more, detect earlier, and choose safer. #CesareanDelivery #CSection #PregnancyCare #SafeDelivery #Gynaecologist IVFpregnancy HighRiskPregnancy MaternalHealth Dr Poonam Saroha IVFspecialist FertilityCare

Comment “ recovery “ for my favorite c section recovery items and I’ll direct message you the links! ✨It’s like I’m a whole new woman now! As this being my third c section I knew over time things would all go back to normal. But even at 6 months postpartum my body is still healing on the inside even though I physically feel better. Just remember to give yourself grace and time for your body to heal from a major surgery 🤍 👌🏼My easy pull down bra is from @baobeibody code lifestylewithkara My c section care tips: Healing: It can take up to three months for it to fully heal. Keep your incision clean, and avoid scrubbing or otherwise irritating it. Allowing your incision to breathe helps with healing as well, so wear breathable fabrics to give your scar a chance to air out. Stay away from treatments for fading the scar’s appearance until it’s fully healed—and get the go-ahead from the doc first. Pain: In addition to your incision hurting, you also may experience cramping as your uterus shrinks. If you’re feeling sore, most over-the-counter pain medications. You can also try applying a heating pad on a low setting to your abdomen to help ease discomfort. ✨Tips: -Stool softeners and/or a fiber supplement or fiber-rich foods (constipation is common after a cesarean delivery) -Pain relief medication, as recommended by your doctor -Heating pad on a low setting -Ice pack (this can help if you’re experiencing itching around your incision area) -Super-absorbent menstrual pads for postpartum bleeding -Antibiotic ointment or petroleum jelly for your incision, if recommended by your doctor -Gauze pads and first aid tape, if covering the incision is recommended by your doctor -Water jug! (staying hydrated can help with constipation issues you may experience) -A c-section-friendly belly band or belt to help support your abdomen while you’re healing #csectionrecovery #csectionmama #csectionbirth #bellybirth Let me know in comments how many c sections you had! Had my 3rd c section 6 months ago ✨ Did you find c section recovery easy, hard or in between?

Celebrating our patients taking steps toward skin confidence! We are thrilled to share the progress of this C-section scar treatment using fractional laser therapy. This procedure significantly reduces the scar’s visibility by promoting deep skin renewal. It’s rewarding to see the textural and color changes with each session. Here’s what I would tell myself going into my first c-section (as I was sobbing on the way to the OR!) ➕You are going to be ok! - I was so nervous about being awake during surgery, but when you’re in that situation, you just do what you have to do. And you WILL be ok! ➕Go ahead and buy the granny panties. - Trust me, you’re not going to want anything touching your incision for awhile. ➕Stay at the hospital as long as they will let you. - A bed that sits you up and lays you down? Yes please! After you have a c-section, that is the worst part….getting in and out of bed. Enjoy that while you have it! ➕If you have a recliner at home, sleep there! - I didn’t have one and always had to build a mountain of pillows behind to sleep. But I always thought a recliner would be so nice after a c-section! ➕You will still have a deep connection with your baby even though you don’t get the immediate skin to skin time. - I always wanted the immediate skin to skin time, but it just wasn’t possible at my hospital after C-sections. (I definitely asked!) But I can tell you, it didn’t affect my deep connections that I thankfully had with my babies. ➕Find a good pelvic floor therapist in your area. - All postpartum moms NEED to go to a pelvic floor therapist afterwards. Our bodies have been through SO much, and pelvic floor therapist are so good for recovery and getting your body back to functioning normally. ➕Do scar tissue massage. - I didn’t even know about this after my first c-section, but scar tissue massage (when you’re ready and at least 6 weeks postpartum) is really key after a c-section. Having a c-section was never my plan, and I did SO many things to avoid it. (I even had my second baby successfully flipped at 37 weeks when he was breached.) But that was my journey, and I’m thankful I was able to safely deliver my babies. 💗💙💙💙 If you’ve had a c-section, what else would you add? #csection #csectionawareness #csectionawarenessmonth #csectionrecovery #csectionmom #csectionmama #csectionmommy #csectionbabies #csections #csectionbirth

I had my first c-section 2 years ago and my second one 1 month ago. If you’re about to have a scheduled c-section, I know how anxiety inducing that can be… you’re in the right place! I have a whole “c-section tips” highlight on my profile but here are three tips to get you going: 1. Ask for the most senior anaesthesiologist: for both of my c-sections, I was assigned students to administer my anaesthesia - until I asked for my team to be changed. I’m so glad I did. Both times the anaesthesia went 💪 2. Be prepared for it to be quick: about 10-15 minutes before baby is removed and an hour tops (all being well) from start to finish 3. The gas pain is real: not everyone, but a big % of people experience bad gas pain after a c-section. With my first it was in my shoulder and with my second it was in my side. Drink hot drinks, chew gum, walk, and lie flat on your left side in the fetal position when you can. My highlight & videos have so much more advice - check it out & thank me later! #csection #csectionrecovery #csectionbaby #csectionmom #csectiontips

I had a scheduled c section because my babe was breech and although I feel like I prepped pretty well, here is what I would ABSOLUTELY have prepped beforehand based on my experience and top tips I got from other c section moms: 1️⃣ have your changing & feeding station set up where you’ll be most (or have duplicates if you have a two story house). we have a two story home and other than going to bed, I mostly stayed downstairs during the day so I had a changing station & feeding supplies downstairs and another set upstairs in our room. *a mini fridge is a game changer for your room for nighttime pump milk, bottles & parts. we have a bottle warmer upstairs too! 2️⃣ know how to work your pump if you choose to use one in your journey and familiarize yourself with the equipment before you give birth so you’re not trying to figure it out exhausted! *this is what I had to do due to a latch issue but all BF journeys are different. 3️⃣ have a stepstool by your bed to get in easier! your incision will be sore and this was a game changer for me (also since have a higher bed in general) 4️⃣ have your postpartum undies & pads ready! yep, you still bleed v*ginally even when you have a c section (totally not fair, I know - double whammy). also highly recommend grabbing colace or miralax and start to take it a week before your schedule c section. it will make your postpartum poop much more enjoyable so you don’t strain and hurt your incision 5️⃣ have a support plan in place for when you get home. communicate to your partner, family, friends (whom ever will be helping you) on what you need, how they can help with the baby and how they can help you while you recover so you & your baby can be your only focus. setting up a meal train was a life saver! stay tuned for my top c section recovery tips! you got this, mama! the first 5-7 days are always the hardest pain wise. sending all the love ❤️ c section mamas, what would you recommend to someone who has a c section scheduled? help a mama out👇🏻
