While fatty liver can potentially progress to cirrhosis over time, the good news is that fatty liver can be reversed with diet, physical activity, and weight loss!! Even 5-10% weight loss can make a huge improvement or even reverse fatty liver! It’s best to avoid any source of concentrated sugar (including high fructose corn syrup and other names for sugar) and alcohol. Instead of drinking juice, eat whole fruit instead! For the same price as a jug of juice you can buy a bag of clementines! Some good news? Coffee has been shown to be beneficial for fatty liver!! (Just avoid adding sugar to it!)
