Trauma doesn’t always arrive with a headline. Sometimes it’s subtle, cumulative, or buried deep in our bodies. It can stem from early life experiences—like abandonment, instability, or chronic stress—that set our stress response to a low simmer, always bracing, always scanning. When the stress response gets stuck in “on,” even at a low hum, it changes everything. 🌀 It can throw off cortisol patterns, leading to energy crashes or wired-at-night insomnia 🌀 It can make blood sugar harder to stabilize, triggering cravings, weight changes, and metabolic shifts 🌀 It can affect our hormones—especially thyroid and adrenal—and disrupt our cycles 🌀 It can weaken immunity, increase inflammation, and intensify autoimmune tendencies 🌀 And it can color our mental health with anxiety, depression, or the sense that we’re never quite “safe” in our own skin. In my medical practice, addressing trauma, stress, and cortisol dysregulation is almost always part of the healing process. Not because something is wrong with us—but because our bodies are wise. They’ve been adapting, surviving, protecting us. Healing means bringing that protective system back into balance—so that our hormones, our sleep, our minds, and our spirits can finally exhale. I’ve personally been doing that work through somatic practices, journaling, and meditation. These help me reconnect with my body and give space for what’s been held too tightly for too long. If you’re feeling tired, anxious, off-center—or if your body feels like it’s carrying something unnamed—please know: ✨ You are not alone. ✨ There’s nothing wrong with you. ✨ Your body is speaking. And there’s a path forward. Different therapy modalities support different people at different phases of their life. As a trauma informed therapist who leans more relational & experiential, I have found that CBT can be reductive and sometimes actually intensify shame. I find that the therapists I am most aligned with also practice from a somatic, trauma focused, and experiential lens. That’s not to say that CBT isn’t supportive for many, or that CBT is “bad”. It’s just not the type of work I feel passionate about, and not how I conceptualize therapy as a whole! If you’re looking for a therapist in MA or PA, we’d love to support you! We’re a team of dedicated relational psychotherapists. Osoby których temat dotyczy zrozumieją co napisze za moment: • zadowalanie innych, hiperczujnosc i dostrojenie do drugiego, spełnianie wszystkich potrzeb i reagowanie na każdy stan jest odpowiedzią na brak poczucia bezpieczeństwa w obrębie relacji • • to bezpieczeństwo jest szukane właśnie poprzez dopasowanie, staranie, zadowalanie etc • To doświadczenie: “Relacja nie jest przestrzenią odpoczynku, regulacji, spokoju. Jeśli chce ją utrzymać, muszę się starać. Jeśli chce być w niej bezpieczny, muszę się starać.” Wyczerpujące doświadczenie. Porównam je do warty, z której nie można zejść, nawet kiedy się chce. Co w takiej sytuacji jest ważne? Jakie kroki mogą być istotne? - znalezienie jednej choćby relacji w której jestem bliżej regulacji, bliżej stabilizacji (np. z moim psem, terapeutą, przyjacielem) - rozpoznanie stanu swojego zadowalacza - (jak się wtedy czuję w ciele? Emocjach? Jak mój oddech? Energia?) - uważnianie mikro-momentów kiedy miałam(em) uważność na siebie, kiedy poszłam(edłem) za swoją potrzebą, impulsem, pomysłem etc. - somatyczna praca z przywiązaniem - regularne neuroćwiczenia - praca z częściami (co moja część zadowalacza dla mnie robi? Jaka jest jej dobra intencja? Jaki jest jej cel? Co wrażliwego chroni?) (Wypisałam jedynie kilka wybranych. Jest bogactwo rozwiązań.
