Rushing through somatic movement, trying to do it “right”, and only doing it during pain flare-ups…that approach won’t do much for your nervous system. I know because that’s exactly how I started. When I first found somatics, I treated it like my more traditional yoga practice: I focused on alignment, I went WAY too fast, and I treated it like something to check off my list. And I mostly reached for it AFTER my pain flared up. Honestly? It felt like a waste of time. I just assumed it didn’t work for me. It turns out I wasn’t meeting myself or my nervous system where they were. Here’s what changed everything for me: ✨I slowed it WAY down. ✨I let go of precision…sometimes it feels like just rolling around on the floor…and it should! ✨I try to do a little bit every day and not just when pain is flaring. Not treating it like a once-a-week fix or a “save me when everything’s on fire” tool has probably made the biggest difference. And a little reminder: social media is designed to move fast because we have such short attention spans. So when you see somatic practices here (yes, even on my page), they’re usually sped up a LOT. If you want to experience a led somatic practice that takes all this into consideration, comment SOMATIC and I’ll send you a free trial to my app.

Stop being afraid of looking strange. Somatic dance isn’t some new trendy wellness hack, it is the oldest healing modality we have. Your ancestors shook, trembled, wailed, and moved their bodies to survive. You only think it is “weird” because you have gotten too comfortable playing cool, performing normal. Now you are terrified of looking unhinged but your life depends on it. I have sat with the dying. Their regrets were never about looking foolish. Their pain was about all the joy they did not let themselves feel, the freedom they did not claim, the love they held back out of fear of judgment. Burn it all. Be free. You are worth it. Morning Lymph Release 🌿💧 Did you know? The lymphatic system doesn’t have its own pump like the heart. It relies on movement, muscle contractions, breathing, and gentle bouncing to keep lymph fluid circulating. ✨ Simple rhythmic movements can help: • Stimulate lymph flow 💧 • Reduce fluid retention • Support immune function 🛡️ • Improve circulation ❤️ This kind of routine can also open up the body, energise you, improve mobility and posture, and support the body’s natural detox processes. Just 10–15 minutes of bouncing, marching, arm swings, and hip movements can wake up the system and get everything flowing. ⏰ Tip: Do it in the morning or earlier in the day — it can be so energising that doing it late evening might make it harder to fall asleep. Put on some music 🎶, move your body, bounce lightly, swing your arms, breathe deeply, and enjoy the flow. lymphatic drainage movement, lymph flow exercises, fascia release movement, morning body activation, gentle detox movement, lymphatic system activation, mobility and posture routine, somatic movement, circulation boosting exercises, daily body reset routine #lymphflow #fasciarelease #morningmovement #lymphatichealth #bodyrese::

You’re not “bad at dancing.”
And you’re not broken. When you’re alone, your body feels safe.
When others are around, your nervous system shifts into protection. Freezing. Tight hips. Holding breath.
That’s not lack of confidence — it’s a safety response. Before expression comes safety.
Before confidence comes regulation. This is what somatic movement teaches the body —
that it’s safe to be seen, slowly, gently, without performing. ✨ If this resonates, follow for simple somatic practices to feel safer and more at home in your body. 🎁 Free somatic practice in bio #somaticdance #somaticmovement #movementasmedicine #dancetoexpress

Some simple ways to restore nervous system balance and connect to the body (Disclaimer: that work for me) I believe we all have an innate healing intelligence. When we look to the natural world, we find clues on how to reconnect to it. Unlike humans, animals rarely suffer from chronic trauma, even after life-threatening events. After experiencing stressful situations, animals shake, tremble, move or vocalize instinctually. For example, a gazelle escaping a predator instinctively shakes off excess survival energy once it reaches safety. Thus completing the fight-or-flight cycle and returning to calm. We humans, however, often suppress these natural responses, either due to social conditioning. Or, we override our built in healing system with our complex mental defenses, like denial or distraction. When the body gets stuck in a survival state, it can lead to dissociation, anxiety, and even dis-ease over time. Our bodies hold memories, concepts, emotions, and beliefs—sometimes from our lifetime, sometimes from beyond. That also means that by working with the body, we can gently release what’s stored within. Somatic practices like movement, breathwork, trembling, and reconnecting with sensations tap into the body’s innate capacity to heal. It’s often about giving the body space and entering into a conversation with it, or working with a safe facilitator who can help guide us in safety. I’m still navigating my own journey with anxiety. It’s not about removing any negative emotions, but I know I can waver these moments and use tools to soften, and make my body an ally. One step at a time. We are wired for healing, and you’re not alone. Reach out🌿🤲 there is a lot of collective hurt and we heal better together I wish you the best life “The heart organically organizes and balances, if given the freedom to do so.” —Anodea Judith #SomaticHealing #NervousSystemRegulation #TraumaHealing #EmbodiedLiving #HealingThroughMovement #SomaticExperiencing #MindBodyConnection #HolisticHealing #somaticmovement #somatics #somaticexercises

Day 30… and this one is deeper than the others. Between the ages of 17–19, I experienced domestic violence in different relationships. The last one, at 19… I was held hostage for 3 days and beaten and Graped every day. I escaped unrecognizable…. Those moments left real impact on my body, fractured jaw, broken eye socket, missing teeth… But what stayed even longer was what I didn’t process. I realized over time… I never touched my face the same. I never truly acknowledged what happened to me. Because when trauma isn’t processed, it doesn’t just disappear it settles. In the body. In the tissue. In the face. And for me, it sank deep into places I avoided. So this journey, releasing trauma stored in my face isn’t just aesthetic, It’s very intentional love. It’s me going back to that version of myself and saying “I see you. I’m here now. You’re safe to release.” That’s what led me to study, get certified, and develop what I now call The Return Method a practice where I synchronize somatic movement, sound, and intentional touch to bring the body back into safety… and the soul back into alignment. Because healing is not just about moving on. It’s about returning to yourself. ✨ If this resonates and you feel called to begin your own return, I’m currently offering sessions at a discounted rate. Comment “RETURN” or message me to book while the sale is active. #somatichealing #traumarelease #healingjourney #nervoussystemregulation #selfrestoration

You carry the world on your shoulders and your neck knows it 🙇‍♀️ If you’re living in overdrive, running on cortisol, and wondering why your body feels tight, disconnected, or exhausted... your posture is a nervous system signal. Forward-head posture isn’t just about screens. It’s what happens when your body has been holding tension, stress, and survival mode for too long. This simple movement: ✦ Releases deep neck muscles that store chronic stress ✦ Activates the vagus nerve to pull you out of fight-or-flight ✦ Restores alignment so your body can finally exhale I listen to my body and move when it calls for it, sometimes it’s this, sometimes it’s something similar. The key is tuning in, not following a rigid routine. I pair it with hydration that actually supports my cells at a deeper level. I’ve been using Kangen Water through Enagic because rebuilding from the inside out means being intentional about everything what you drink, how you move, how you breathe.
