Successful visualization can be one of the most powerful tools an athlete can use to set themselves up for success - yet it’s so commonly overlooked. When we visualize a lift, our brain fires neurons in our somatosensory and motor cortices that mimic us actually feeling the bar, proprioception, and force production. This strengthens the synapses related to the exercise, allowing for higher levels of execution. Beyond that, it grants the lifter an absurd level of confidence. One that makes success an afterthought for most. If you haven’t done a real visualization exercise I implore you to try this before your next primary day and report back. Would love to see the results. Interested in coaching or 1-1 mentorship? DM me directly for more info or apply using the link in my bio 🫡🏔️

This is going to damage a lot of people in years to come. Perfectionism is a lie that’s being spread among this industry like a badge of honour. Perfect isn’t real, we’re human not robots. It takes a lot of time, guidance and support to build a process around bodybuilding that is comparable to the likes of your favourite bodybuilder (as it likely took them half a decade or more as well) You’re not a failure for making mistakes and getting things wrong, a good coach won’t ignore your mistake hoping it’s not repeated, they’ll ask why and try to help build strategies to avoid it in future. IMO the best coaches take accountability for every mistake a client/athlete makes. This is powerful. It enables them to form strategies to combat any future mistakes for that client/athlete & others. Start following and taking advice from people who nurture your growth, not crush it. #madeformore #bodybuilding #perfectionism

PERIODIZATION - MOST OF US DONT EVEN NEED IT Controversial or "click baity" statement perhaps, but one that is also kind of true. For so many of us, we don't need an accumulation/intensification/realization structure to our training. Firstly, realization phases are for peaking, if you're not competing/testing, then this kind of becomes irrelevant anyway. Next, for many of us who are just sustainably looking to get bigger/stronger/better, we don't need distinct phases with large shifts in approach, we just need incremental change that provides just enough variance to keep stimulating progress. There absolutely is a time and place for the more complex models. And they can also be very effective for those of us not in the sports performance world also. But more often that not trainees are paralyzed by the idea that training needs to be that complicated. Similarly, many coaches feel pressured into using more intricate systems to make it look like their programming is high led (I get it). Truth is, most sustainably effective training really doesn't look impressive. I've had plenty of clients run almost the same plan for months on end and make progress. Hell, if you can improve by 1% each training block then you're progressing faster than 95%+ of trainees. Sometimes, in fact often, boring looking training is the most effective. Sorry. You’re showing up. You’re training hard. But the mirror still doesn’t reflect it. It’s not effort. It’s not discipline. It’s the fact that your effort’s going into the wrong plan. You don’t need another 5am session. You need to audit the machine you’re feeding energy into. That’s what Transform to Perform does. It spots where your results are leaking - and seals it tight. DM ‘DIAGNOSE’ if you’ve been investing without a return.

‘So lOCkEd iN’ What if you actually did? Genuinely being locked in as an athlete does not look like just the six weeks close to competition where you take shit seriously. It’s months, it’s more details than just what you’re doing in the gym, it’s being a real athlete. The best in the world, hell the best I’ve ever worked with all excel because they take so much of the training time seriously. Not just when competition demands it, but when they demand it of themselves

High performers don’t make emotional decisions - they build environments that remove emotion from the equation. When pressure is high, clarity drops. That’s exactly why the best athletes and operators don’t rely on how they feel in the moment. They rely on structure, feedback, and people they trust to hold the objective line. Outsourcing decisions isn’t weakness. It’s strategy. If you’re constantly negotiating with yourself, you don’t need more motivation - you need better systems around you. Comment CLARITY if you want to understand how high-level clients stay objective and execute without second-guessing.

The athlete with every priority has no priority - and goes nowhere. And you already know it. (Save this - you’re going to want to come back to it.) That’s the part nobody talks about, not that intermediate athletes don’t understand the concept of focus. Most do. Ask them and they’ll tell you exactly what they need to work on. Strength. Gymnastics. Engine. They know, they just won’t choose. Because choosing one thing means accepting the others might fall behind. And for a competitive athlete, that feels like going backwards. So instead they hedge by doing a bit of everything. Full effort. No direction. And then the year passes. Same athlete, more volume, no meaningful change. The problem was never knowledge, it was the decision they kept avoiding. Choosing a priority isn’t giving up on the other qualities. It’s the only way any of them actually move. 👉 Follow if you’re done hedging.

Top performers don’t have quieter minds. They have better focus. 1. The monkey mind is normal — but untrained Your brain jumps from thought to thought: past, future, doubt, judgment, distraction. That’s not a flaw; it’s the default setting. The issue starts when that mental noise runs your performance instead of you running it. 2. Attention is your primary performance lever Attention is a trainable skill. Where your focus goes, your energy follows. Loss of attention equals loss of control. Top performers don’t have fewer thoughts — they direct their attention better. 3. You are not your thoughts A critical mental shift: observe your thoughts without getting pulled in. The monkey mind produces constant commentary, but that commentary isn’t automatically true or useful. Distance creates control. 4. Focus on process, not outcome Distraction often comes from obsessing over results (winning, failing, judgment). Your attention belongs in the present process: the next move, the current task, this breath. Control the controllables. 5. Mental training is as real as physical training Just like muscles, attention requires training. Repetition. Discipline. Intentional practice — especially under pressure. Bottom line: The monkey mind doesn’t disappear. You learn to manage it. And that’s where performance begins. #monkeymind #mindgym #mindsetmatters #mindsetshift #growthmindset

Muscular Failure is a misnomer in the truest sense… Failure is much more the product of your perception than it is your physical capacity. This means we can leverage how your brain perceives a task to then put more tension on our muscle (and thus greater stimulus.) STABILITY - how much energy is your brain using trying to balance/coordinate this movement? If it’s alot, you may be better served by simplifying. FOCUS - Is your attention in one place? Did you take the time to “lock in” prior to jumping in? Or is your brain’s energy being divided? These are just a few ways we can leverage this understanding.
