Cable loading hits different... But I still prefer weighted pull-ups with plates ๐Ÿซก Hereโ€™s the difference ๐Ÿ‘‡ When you use free weights (plates), gravity pulls straight down. The load is constant and predictable. With cables, the tension changes through the range. You get continuous tension and a slightly different pull angle. It can feel smoother, sometimes harder at the top depending on setup. Itโ€™s not better. Itโ€™s not worse. Just different stimulus. And different stimulus = new adaptation. Would I replace classic weighted pull-ups? No. Would I use this as a variation? Yes. Try it. Feel it. Decide for yourself.
