Formulate a phrase that acknowledges the issue while expressing self-acceptance. For example, “Even though I feel nervous about this interview, I know I am worthy.” 3. While repeating this phrase (or other affirmations), gently tap on the accupunture points listed below, using your fingertips and following a set sequence. Here’s where tap: 1. Top of head 2. I used to be skeptical of EFT until I understood how it works in the brain. EFT works by calming the nervous system while the brain is processing a stressful thought or memory, allowing the brain to reconsolidate the memory with less emotional charge. When something feels stressful, the brain’s alarm system (the amygdala) switches on. EFT uses gentle tapping on specific acupuncture points while you focus on the issue, sending calming sensory signals back to the brain. This is called bottom-up regulation - the body calming the brain, not thinking your way out of it. Because the body is calm while the memory is active, the brain learns it doesn’t need to react the same way anymore. Repetition strengthens this new response. Sleep locks it in. Same memory.
