I shared a lot of information about getting a balanced back, and that’s true, your routine has to take into account all back muscles. But sometimes you come to me with a routine that IS balanced, and you tell me you’ve put on a lot of volume on your back, and then when I look closer, I realize that actually you just did a bulk at a pretty high body fat percentage. For example, in my first video I was at a really high body fat percentage so obviously if you add muscle mass on top of that, you’re going to feel like it’s because of the gym, when in reality, it’s not at all. When you do your first cut, you realize just how small the muscles actually are, and you think to yourself, “why didn’t I go all in on lifting earlier? Why did I have this limiting belief that muscle was going to make me look bulky?” When in fact, it’s all a question of body fat percentage. Most of the time your diet and/or activity level. I’m obviously not asking you to be at a very low body fat percentage like I am in the second video, that was during my cut. But what I want to explain through this video is that muscle is actually really small. Look at how tiny I am in the second video. And if you don’t like your upper body even though you have a balanced routine, it’s either because you haven’t developed your lower body enough, so your upper body looks wider than your lower body or because your body fat percentage is genuinely too high, and when the two combine, it creates a look you might not like. So the moral of the story is: manage your body fat properly, and manage your proportions properly too.​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​​ Building muscle is THE best option ever. I stand by this. No matter your current situation, building muscle IS gonna solve it.
