Here’s a quick 5-minute hip flexor fix ✅ The purpose of the first drill is to create length through the hip flexors. This is a nice stretch you can modify to meet your needs. If you have less hip mobility, put the roller further down your butt. If you want more stretch, move it further up. But make sure your low back stays neutral. The purpose of the second exercise is to increase the amount of genuine hip extension you have (which tight hip flexors limit as they pull your pelvis forward into hip flexion). Since we opened up space with the first drill, we are working to own it in the second drill while still putting the hip flexor in a lengthened position. Finally, the third exercise is to train the glutes as a hip extensor at the end-range to get them to work properly in a position of a lengthened hip flexor. The pillow will help prevent you from overly arching your low back and substituting low back extension for what we want, which is hip extension. Also the breath will help decompress the low back which gets tight from tight hip flexors pulling the pelvis forward.
