INTENTION changes everything! Two athletes. Same starting point. Same exact program.
But one keeps improving… and the other stays stuck. Why? Athlete A is just going through the motions. Showing up because they have to. Checking the box.
Athlete B shows UP. Every rep has purpose. Every drill has focus. Every session has effort behind it. That’s the difference between average and elite. If you want to become an elite athlete, don’t just be present; be intentional. Work hard. Compete. Show up with purpose. #AthleteMindset #TrainWithPurpose #SportsPerformance #EliteAthlete #HardWorkWins

This is something I’ve been wanting to share with you guys for a while now Standing on a field with a large group of kids, limited space, limited equipment, and limited time isn’t easy Keeping everyone engaged, active, and enjoying the session, while still working on physical development, can be a real challenge That’s why I wanted to create this The Playbook is for you who work with youth sports and are looking for inspiration around physical development. It’s a collection of the games my players and I have enjoyed the most over time — games that are simple, playful, and engaging The main focus is long-term athletic development through play-based games that you can implement straight away with your group What you’ll find inside: ✅ 60+ athletic, game-based activities ✅ Video demos for each game (embedded on the same page) ✅ Games organized into three categories: speed & jump, strength, and agility ✅ Mobile-friendly format ✅ The principles behind the games — so you can adapt them and create your own You can find the link in my bio and access it straight away 🚀 • • • • #idrottsfysiolog #exercisephysiologist #youthsports #youthathletes #longtermathleticdevelopment

Improving rate of rotational development allows the athlete to create more efficient and powerful movement sequences. Training with the intent of rotating as fast as possible forces the athlete to better sequence their hips, ribs, and shoulders creating a smoother, faster rotation. Who wouldn’t want that?

Take any 9-14 year old and help them become more athletic, faster, stronger, & coordinated. They will get better at their sport, regardless of the sport they play. I have rowers that I train run 30-40 yard sprints in training & do a ton of jumps & plyometrics. “Why would they do that?! They’re in a boat - they don’t run or jump” They continually PR their strength & power numbers in training - and then I hear about them hitting huge 2K PR’s and improving substantially in their rowing performance. Do what works and produces results. What does “static strength training” even mean?! _________________________________________________ #strengthandconditioning #exercisescience #personaltrainer

If you’ve been told you can’t teach speed, then you’ve been lied to. There are many ways to train them, but rapid hip extension, ankle stiffness, horizontal projection, and build good shapes alone can take you pretty far if you’re sprinting with intent multiple times a week. Be sure to save this ✅ And don’t forget to check out my profile. I post things like this daily

Strong but still slow? You’re not alone. You’ve been told since you were young champions were made in the weight room That the only way you could get faster is to get crazy strong and put on a bunch of muscle You committed to lifting weights year round and now all of your maxes have gone up substantially You’ve put on the weight coach asked you to and feel you’ve done it all right You get into speed testing and have actually found yourself stagnating and sometimes even falling behind your peers You’re confused and frustrated Believe it or not, this happens all the time You see… improving your strength by itself is not enough Sure, you increase your ability to produce force relative to your mass… But when applying all that extra force poorly… it can actually slow you down Learn how to apply your newfound force in productive ways by practicing proper sprint technique and familiarizing yourself with the skill of sprinting on a regular basis I’ve got a 12 week program made to help you with exactly that! Comment “PROGRAM” below and I’ll send you the link to sign up! 🛑Stop training youth athletes like mini adults — their future performance starts with the right foundation!🔑 Here’s why unilateral strength training (foot, ankle, knee) is a game-changer for young athletes ✔️ Most sports are single-leg dominant train how they play ✔️ Fix strength & stability imbalances early ✔️ Build bulletproof joints to reduce injury risk ✔️ Improve balance, control & coordination ✔️ Develop strong movement patterns that last a lifetime Start smart. Move better. Dominate later. #YouthAthleteTraining #UnilateralStrength #InjuryPrevention #AthleticDevelopment #TrainForSport #PerformanceStartsYoung

Athletic Development is a Slow Cook Approach You need to be in it for the long game How many super star stud athletes do you know of in middle and high school that fizzle out and don’t do anything at the next level? I mean i remember people saying OJ Mayo was the next Michael Jordan (still a great player but you see my point) The rise of AAU travel programs and “elite” camps cause so many kids to think their high school accolades matter The professional level is an entirely different beast Are you willing in commit for 7+ years of development like Adam did with Jay to reach your goal the pinnacle of your performance? I love how Jay says the wider the base the higher the peak because that’s something I truly believe in You need to commit for years. You aren’t training the be the best 16 year old in the nation You’re training to be the best version of yourself 10 years from now People overestimate what they can do in a month They underestimate what they can do in a year Deposit a penny every day and watch it compound over time Hitman Out🫡
