Quick-Pickled Cabbage Ingredients: - 1 small-medium red cabbage, thinly chopped - 2 cups apple cider vinegar - 1/2 lemon juice - 2 cups water - 2 tbsp sugar - 2 tsp salt Options for pickling spices: - 2 garlic cloves, sliced - 1 bay leaf - 1/2 tsp black peppercorns Instructions: 1. Sterilize the jar by placing it mouth down in water at a gentle boil for 10+ minutes. 2. Prepare your pickling brine by mixing the vinegar, lemon juice, water, sugar, and salt until fully dissolved. 3. Add your pickling spices to the brine. 4. Pack the jar with chopped cabbage and pour the pickling brine over it. 5. Seal the lid and flip the jar upside down for 2 hours, then place it in the fridge. Quick Pickled Red Cabbage Recipe, only 4 ingredients, easy prep, ready in as little as 2 hours & can be stored in the fridge for up to 1-2 weeks ⬇️   🔸Ingredients: Half a red cabbage 150ml red wine vinegar 100ml water 1tbsp sugar 1️⃣ Finely slice the red cabbage, you can do this with a knife or use a mandolin to speed things up 2️⃣ Pour the red wine vinegar & water into a clean airtight jar, then add the sugar and mix well to dissolve 3️⃣ Add the sliced red cabbage into the jar, pushing it down as it gets full to tightly pack 4️⃣ Put the lid on, making sure it’s airtight, then refrigerate. Delicious way to brighten up most dishes! Plus it’s a cruciferous vegetable, my fave! Red cabbage contains anthocyanins (responsible for the red pigment) which is a powerful antioxidant. 📋Ingredients: About 1/4 red cabbage (sliced) -1 cup water -1 cup white vinegar -1 tsp salt -1 tsp maple syrup* Store in the fridge! Lasts weeks! *Feel free to use sugar, but I rarely use sugar in my cooking. For any sweetener, I use maple syrup, honey, dates, or any natural sweetener than is lower on the glycemic index. Pickled Cabbage! I picked up a 'Waste Not' box from my local Lidl and it included this sad cabbage that most people would throw away. Instead I made up an easy pickle and it's now in the fridge to add to salads, sandwiches and side dishes. Use up what you've got and eat well for less. This recipe will pickle 1 small head of cabbage or half a large one! Ingredients Cabbage shredded 300ml hot water 2-3 tablespoons of sugar 2-3 tablespoons of salt Bay Leaves Peppercorns Any other aromatics you choose Method Stir the hot water with the sugar and salt until it's dissolved. Top up with vinegar. Submerge the cabbage into the jar and pack it tightly. Making sure that the cabbage is fully submerged in the liquid. Refrigerate and enjoy. PS the thicker slices means that the cabbage retains a crunch when pickled. #recipe #pickle

It only needs 2 days to pickle, and you’ll be enjoying these things before you know it! . How would you rate the crunch 1-10? . 1 1/2-gallon jar 3-4 small heads of cabbage 2 cups apple cider vinegar 4 tablespoons kosher salt 1 Tb brown sugar 3-4 cloves garlic 1 Tb peppercorns 2-3 bay leaves *1-2 jalapeños, optional* . Cut the cabbage into 1/4’s or 1/8’s, leaving the stem intact. Rinse in cold water. Fill tightly into the jar. Add the remaining ingredients and fill the rest with filtered water. Seal tightly and turn the jar around to mix. Store in a cool, dark place for 2 days and enjoy. Store in the refrigerator. .
