To perform this exercise, simply go up onto your tiptoes and drop down onto your heels with a bit of force. This small movement signals your bones to strengthen, and can even help prevent osteoporosis over time. This is an easy exercise you can do even whilst brushing your teeth, or waiting for the kettle to boil! Aim to do 10-15 reps, for just a few minutes a day, and over the time this will increase your bone density. One way of addressing this is to perform this muscle release technique. 🤔 You may think, how does shoulder abduction affect the QL muscle? Here’s the routine: Alternating Knee Taps – 4–5 each side × 1–3 sets Quadruped Straight Leg Rock Backs – 5–8 each side × 1–3 sets Lunge Hamstring Hinges – 5–6 reps • 5 sec holds each side × 1–3 sets Standing Hip CARs to Supermans – 3–5 each side × 1–3 sets Elevated Sumo Squats – 4–6 reps • 3 sec pause × 1–3 sets You don’t need to hammer these, just move with intent, control, and consistency. Repost @handinhandotli In general, nerve glides/flossing consists of tensioning the nerve on one end, while relaxing it on the other, alternating the tension between sides. The theory behind this treatment is that the motion improves blood flow and releases any restrictions affecting the nerve by slowly gliding the nerve back and forth within its sheath. Therapists/clinicians use nerve flossing for peripheral nerve injuries, radiculopathies, and other conditions related to the nervous system Well how effective are they?.... Some studies suggested that performing median nerve flossing with combined conventional CTS treatments, showed some improvement compared to conventional care alone. However other studies demonstrated little benefit of nerve flossing for most conditions, including carpal tunnel syndrome. “Limited evidence is available on the effectiveness of neural gliding. Standard conservative care seems to be the most appropriate option for pain relief, although neural gliding might be a complementary option to accelerate recovery of function. More high-quality research is still necessary to determine its effectiveness and the subgroups of patients who may respond better to this treatment.”
