Pseudo Pushups: Do them the correct way ✅💯 Using the forward lean you are able to isolate the shoulders better, the triceps too but the chest is definitely removed from this movement 👊🏻 The main issue most people face is with PROTRACTION - the rounding of the upper back 💥 Use the proper technique when pushing down with straight arms by ensuring your upper back is not RETRACTED aka pinching your shoulder blades together ❌ This may be good for specific movement such as pullups or other back variations but the pseudo pushup is a push movement, instead focus on pushing your shoulder blades as far away from eachother as possible ✅ 🔋📍Follow for more tips #pushup #training #muscle #workout #fitness #motivation #exercise

However pseudo push ups are one of the best bodyweight exercises that will help you to build strong shoulders. Also this will be a steping stone thorwards some calisthenics skills like 90 degree hold and planche variations! But there are few common mistakes you should avoid! ❌ Leaning to much ❌ Unable to maintain lean angle ❌ Not protracting the scapula ❌ Not engageging glutes and core When doing pseudo push ups always engage your core and glutes, make sure to lean forward as much as you possibly can, but not to much so you can still hold the perfect form and lean angle after the push up, protract the scapula! 3 push-up mistakes to avoid 🙅🏻 ok, the last one isn’t technically a mistake, but I’d argue there’s a better way to do it 1️⃣ do NOT flare your elbows out to the side instead, keep them tucked in. When they are flared out, there is an increased strain & risk of injury of the rotator cuff muscles. 2️⃣ don’t have your hips too high sometimes it may be hard to recognize that you’re doing this without a mirror. one tip I can give here is to squeeze your glutes during the push-up — this will help lower your hips to the proper position 3️⃣ protract scapula at the top of the push-up this last one is extra in my opinion — if you protract your scapula at the top of the push-up, you are increasing the range of motion (ROM) of the push-up, and increasing ROM helps with hypertrophy & strength gains #pushup #pushups #calisthenics
